But....... lunch was *noice* (and no, it's spelled correctly :-)

Ended up it was Rye crusty bread, with roasted sunflower seeds all over
the outside..... the aoli, fresh cracked pepper and baby wild rocket.

It would have been better with a nice glass of Woodstock '98
Riesling....... but we're off to the Barossa Valley in 2&1/2 weeks and I
need to 'clean the system' before then :-)

Sounds wonderful. I haven't had a riesling in a long time; I think I'm

The local fish shop had endeavouri prawns at a pretty reasonable price
the other day (ca. $12.50/kg IIRC) so I lashed out on a pound of them
(actually got a whisker over 600 g). They were *excellent*. I simply
scoffed most of them down with a bit of fresh bread and butter and a
pot of riesling. (Yeah, yeah, I know wine tastes better out of a
proper wine glass, but the difference doesn't make up for the
inconvenience of having to get up to refill the bloody thing. ;-)

SO and myself got away together.... no kids, no family, no friends....
and I made the 'mistake' of telling my little sister (in Adelaide) the
plans...... one day with her, a week in the Barossa, another day with
her before we leave again...... so she went and made 'plans' so now it's
going to be the 4 of us for the whole time.

Oh well............

The SO and I have 10 days down in Tasmania for my birthday...... and
we're not telling *anyone* about it!!!!

It's funny how the prawns taste different week to week..... or even
trawler to trawler.

I've had prawns off of one trawler that were as salty as...... and the
boat behind them had the sweetest tasting little suckers imaginably!

Hey!! So long as you enjoyed it :-)

I've drunk white wine out of a styro stubby cooler whilst holding two
fingers over the holes (back in the 80's) with 3 of my best
mates,.......... sitting on the rocks, up on The Strand, a couple of
hours after we had buried one of my mates 6 month old son, who just
happened to have been born on the same day as my youngest son.

Some days you just can't erase :-/

Great idea! LOL. I've been there (with the friends/relatives thing) and
it's difficult to plan what you and they want to do. I'm glad you two still
have the chance to get away together. When *is* your birthday?

as well as being a foodies paradise...... and my sister knows of my love
for a drop or 3 of red....... and she doesn't drink *at all*!!! So she
has already volunteered her services as taxi driver for the rest of us
:-)
This will be the second time I've seen her/spent time with her in 11
years, so I can see why she's eager to spend 'quality' time with me.

But it won't *all* be pleasure....... one of my local restaraunts found
out I was going there and wants me to source cellar door wines (not
available in shops) for them.
So part of the time there will be 'working' ;-)
