Wondering if anyone is familiar with Opera's (Pinarello) Palladio Ti/CF
frame? I understand it came out in 2004 and ran for one year before
being withdrawn from the market. The available info on the net on this
frame is extremely limited. I've come across one such frame and is very
interested. But without feedback on the net and unable to test ride, I
am indecisive if it would be smart purchase to build it up as a project
bike.
My questions are,
- Is any familiar with it and have any experience with it? Any comment
on the ride and stiffness of the frame?
- Is Ti/CF a wise combination (seat stay and fork are CF)? I know that
Ti is "forever" as they say. But would CF be as durable? At some point
in the future, would be be possible to just replace the CF seat stay?
- Any technical reason why this frame got withdrawn from the market? I
am not worried about it being expensive and lacked buyers. I am
concerned if there's a technical flaw that shortened its product life.
Any other comments and advise on buying a Ti frame is also most welcome.
Thanks!
