.....back to the topic at hand; The paceline has stated today that after the disastrous year in '06 that they are setting up a helpline for Discovery fans... they can call 10 10 10 10 to get the 2007 season..... (get it... won nothing won nothing won nothing !

2007 is shaping up to be pretty good for DC. Likely ToC champions. With one or several Grand Tours ripe for the taking. WBT, you won't be having such a good year.

And, since you term Basso a "junkie", what "proof" do you have that everyone on CSC presently (or QS, TM, ..., etc.) isn't also a junkie. We want "proof" that they are all clean. Sure many haven't "yet" failed any tests (kind of like Basso) but they must first "prove" their innocence. How could CSC sign ANY of their roster?

Lastly, if they are "all" junkies, then what's the problem? But, what really irks you is any prospect of DC success given your foaming anti-American, anti-LA, anti-DC attitude.

It's plain for all to see, (and I'm not even American).

We will see and we will see on Basso... how is he's DNA submission going ? Last year I heard the same rhetoric ... again this year we'll hear the same... so I'll put it this way.... Hincapie out of the classics with a broken wrist... Basso out of the Giro and Tour on drugs charges... whats left ? Tommy D for the Tour ? LOL !!! Come on..... as for the other teams... I won't try to debate the finer points of who is clean and who is not, because I think that the system is too flawed to tell us conclusively, but I will say that I thought you rode bicycles WBT....

If you've ever ridden in a paceline / peleton you'd probably conclude that it was Cruz's fault. From what the article says Cruz touched Basso's wheel and fell. In general if you touch wheels and fall you were the one behind - the rider in front ususally rides on fine, and that means you (the rider behind) were 1/2 wheeling or not paying attention and the fall is techincally your fault. Now 1/2 wheeling is pretty hard to avoid in a pack, but unless the person in front pulls a real bozo move, like slamming on the brakes or swerving sharply and it is the riders who are following who have the responsibility to monitor the speed of the pack. In otherwords it sounds like Cruz could have touched anyones wheel and it was his fault that he fell and took out George as he was over eager to acclerate. Basso probably had nothing to do with the accident other that the fact that he was the body/bike ahead. So, slam Cruz all you want (though why do that it was an accident! and they happen), but I don't think you can blame Basso for Hincapie's fall, wether or not you like him or approve of him.

Argh. "haven't yet failed any tests (kind of like Basso)"... Surely you know by now that there is no test for autologous blood transfusion (or HGH, or a reliable test for micro-dosed EPO)? The "never failed any tests" line is ridiculous -- it's perfectly clear that not failing tests in not hard to do. And even when someone DOES fail a test, the doping apologists blame absolutely everyone but the rider: the lab, the UCI, [censored] Pound, French journalists, the French in general, a few bad apples (usually Spanish riders), drinking a beer, drinking a whiskey, drinking too much water, ANYTHING.

My goodness, I wish I could get away with playing Monopoly is such a puerile fashion: I'd never lose. In most places, however, we tend to expect a bit more accountability.

Points:

1) Tour of California (EPO-Amgen) does no drug testing!
2) If they did, EPO is EXCLUDED for obvious reasons. (vital to success)
3) There are no drug tests for most drugs: hGH, IGF, eGH, insulin, EPO can be easily beaten, testosterone is EXCLUDED unless of T/E overdose.

The Amgen Tour is a wacked out blood doper convention. They all dope---especially the sprinters.

Basso is a good guy as well as Jens don't know about some of the other but I can say that no matter what these two guys have integrity as human beings.

If Basso was above suspicion, Bjarne Riis never would have let him go. Bruyneel is betting on the "Jaksche Defence" of "So, I dropped off some bags of blood in Spain... that is not illegal."

1. Discovery dropped their sponsorship -- now out there trolling for a main sponsor.
2. Unhappiness among ProTour teams about Basso signing.
3. Hoste gone, Savoldelli gone. Classics gone, Giro gone.
4. Leipheimer not made of the stuff to win three week Grand Tours.
5. Danielson is the lord of the "I had a bad day" press conference.
6. Basso not yet in the clear

[ Riis did not let Basso go. You don't know what happened. Maybe the sponsors distanced them selves from Basso...... you have to remember that Riis had a very difficult time finding a sponsor the last time. But more then likely Basso wanted to be removed from Riis. You have to understand something .. Basso is a GT rider. Riis has never won a GTas a DS..... And it doesn't look good this year either. Between Basso and Johan Bruyneel, they have dominated the GT's. Basso has won GT's......so why stay with a guy that has no experience in winning a GT? Or do you go with a proven professional that is going down in history as a dominant GT winner. If Riis dod not want Basso, he would not be crying about losing him now.
Disco just re-loaded. Basso made the choice.

Where have you been ????? Loss of sponsorship means nothing when you are actually working for Tailwind Sports...... They will have another international sponsor in place. Lance's international popularity will make that a given

Basso was not cleared. The case was shelved. The ASO is just waiting for something to leak out of OP. They are expecting it, and when it happens Basso will not be welcome. I think there is a two thirds chance that Basso will not be in the Tour.

For whatever reasons, german authorities are determined to link Ullrich to OP via DNA, and when it happens the credibility of everyone else involved will go straight into the toilet.
