I have been previously pointed in the direction of Wiggle

cartridges but I am not able to identify exactly which unit I require

Wiggle are never good on technical enquiries. DotBike sells the same
product, though I'm not sure what they're technical knowledge is like
(probably better than Wiggle's).

JIS suits Shimano square-taper cranks.

68mm is the shell width of frames with an "English" thread -- what most

Measure length of old BB axle, and that's it. So I suspect the "JIS 68mm
103mm" will be the most suitable version.

Thanks guys - I have taken the plunge and ordered a 68 -103. Now I will
have no excuse for not going out on my bike.
