I see that Mr. Tom Sherman is our most prolific poster. Oddly enough he does not initiate hardly any
posts. Like me he is a responder. It is interesting to note how many of the most popular threads
turn out to be OT. Hmmm....I think maybe I have had something to do with that. The number one
subject thread (having the most posts) was one labeled "funny" which I don't recall at all. It just
goes to show how selective we are when it comes to what interests us. I also note that ARBR does not
get involved with many other newsgroups, which is a good thing in my opinion. Most cross posting
turns out to be a mess.

Ye Gods! Yes, I more than recall the thread "OT and flammable" and I never want to revisit it again
so long as I shall live. It is somewhat of a mystery to me why it should have retained it's original
subject label of "funny" when it was changed. It seems it should have been listed as "OT and
flammable". But the ways of Google will always remain a mystery to me I guess. In any event, may
that thread rest in eternal peace.

As for me I always seem to swim against the tide - LWB, USS, and Delta are my preferences. I have
almost no interest in low racers or high racers because high BB's are instant numb toes for me.

I suspect that certain bikes are mentioned far more frequently than their actual representation in
ownership by a.r.b.r. contributors; e.g. Earth Cycles Sunset. 😉

Skip, I am with you. I too have no interest in high racers and low racers because of the numb feet
syndrome. I also very much prefer LWB to SWB and I also prefer deltas to tadpoles. My only point of
departure with you is that I do prefer OSS to USS. My very first recumbent was the Infinity, a LWB
with USS. I still like the looks of it but the USS was always a slight problem for me. I even had to
convert my Vision R40 to LWB with OSS. After riding for many years my Tour Easy clone, I finally got
the RANS V2 which gave me a higher BB. I do not get numb feet with it but I suspect if the BB was
any higher that I would. One has to know where to stop with that BB height.

No, it is definitely the height of the BB that is the cause. I know that those of you who do not
have this problem find it hard to believe. I would too if I hadn't had to learn it the hard way.

The main reason I am responding is because for some reason this subject thread took off on it's own
due to the ARBR acquiring a space between the R and the B in the subject line. I have restored it
(the subject line to ARBR, not AR BR) and so I am curious as to how this message will appear in the
Google line up. How it got separated in the first place is a mystery to me, unless it was my spell
check operating overtime. I think it will actually want to correct the spelling in the subject line
as well as the body of the message. The moral of the story is that even with the spell check you
have got to use your own brain or else you are going to get things wrong.

It's not the shoes. I've tried multiple shoes. If you google arbr numb toes I've tried every one of
those suggestions, even the silly ones. Selling the bike was the only thing that worked.

Sounds plausible. I usually don't get the numb feet problem; when I do, I'm on a trike with a low
bottom bracket. We'll see how going from SPD to Look changes this.

Ed, I agree with you on the shoe issue. I had been using some Carnic(Sp?) road shoes that WERE ULTRA
TIGHT! (Why I chose to buy them that TIGHT fitting is... well I got a good price on them... ;-) On
my Vision R-40 and R-45, P-38 and M5 low racer, I immediately experienced numb foot syndrome (After
only a few miles of riding) and limped back to a lower BB, LWB Easy Racer bike(s). I just concluded
a SWB was never going to be right for me. Anyway, I got fed up with the TIGHT shoes and blood clots
in my large toenail and moved on to some larger, wider SIDI shoes. My feet were very happy at then
end of a ride and the blood build up under my big toe has gone away. THEN I tried the Bacchetta
bikes and fell in LOVE with the Aero (It's that Ti thing...) BUT feared the return of the numb foot
issue, due to the HIGH BB the Aero has. I'm HAPPY to report that after some fairly long rides 50+
milers, I have NO NUMB feet or toes to report. For me, it was clearly the shoe thing! EZ Biker :-)

BB rises much above seat height. It is all because of our human physiology. If that BB gets high

I hope you were able to do some cycling on the Paul Bunyan Trail and the Heartland Trail. I believe
Minnesota has just about the best bike trails of any state in the country. Unlike many bike trails
elsewhere, most of the Minnesota bike trails are asphalt. Some of them are starting to connect now
with one another. They can be a bit crowded on weekends but on week days they are mostly empty. The
Root River Trail system in the southeastern part of the state is becoming known far and wide and
attracts thousands of cyclists every summer weekend.

Ah.....have it your way my feet are numb and I can't ride it anymore. COS..... I don't ride trails
but loved the back roads around DL and Brainerd. However, I did ride the Sparta/Elroy Trail (WI) on
an upwrong. The tunnels were neat. Made me wish that in addition to the Aero that I brought the
BikeE AT also.
