I'm sorry I can't respond to this as I have you "killfiled".

    Yes. I just checked. But there's a workaround. She uses Mozilla;
Hudson uses Agent. It can still be done.

Sure it can John Boy, are you having a great time?

What if I just use my Outlook Express account, which is all set up,
    with my alternatives servers?

This is going to be so much fun, and will give me a chance to hone my
    skills.

Were you all using a decent OS like Linux with its newsreaders, there
wouldn't be a need for hopping backwards and things like nfilter. For
example, slrn can score articles based on any header and filter them
    through regular expressions.

Not that I use that capability here because I never read MFW.
So, speaking of that, stop editing MY \\dreaded// (alleged)
killfiles <spit> and subscribing me to MFW.

    Back to the bozo bin.

We have ways of getting you to conform comrade.

    But . . . . but . . .Lee . . . could you 'splain something to me. I gather
that you would like to killfile Charles but he foxes you by changing his
addy. So he comes up as a post under his name 'Charles'. So, being an
intelligent person as we all know that you are, when you see a post with the
name "Charles" and knowing that you do not want to be bothered by people
whose name is "Charles", why don't you simply IGNORE these posts with that
name? What about that big word 'hypocrite'? You've never killfiled anyone
Lee - you can't bear to miss anything.

You make some good points David, which of course he won't be able to
address because he *is* a "troll" and simply won't admit it.

Or could it be that he has you two "killfiled" and therefore can't see you?

Oops, I guess looking up destroys that theory, ;~)

I was thinking for a moment, how nice to hear from Ellis after all

Why does my email address so bother some of you? When I used to post
in my own name and used my real email address, I was inundated with
the most foul filth imaginable, obviously constructed by some very
    sick people here.

No one is asking you to use your real email address. They are simply
asking you to use the same fake email address all of the time.

"killfiles", because I don't give a [censored] whether you "killfile" me
or not. All the rest of my input remains exactly the same, so
*really* "killfiling" me should be relatively simple.

Then why change your address. Heck, my newsreader actually allows me
to raise the score of posters that I feel are worth highlighting. In
fact, it sorts the threads according to which threads have the most
interesting participants and subjects. People that change their
aliases a lot tend to have low scores.

Of course, that's actually part of the beauty. For the most part
people that have something to say don't spend all of their time and
    effort trying to avoid killfiles.

I have a hard time believing that adding you to a killfile (or
lowering your score in my case) is more difficult than changing your
alias (not to mention changing your server).

You amuse yourself the best way you can Jason, and I'll do my thing. I
don't really care what you do one way or the other.

Watch my lips - this is just a great big game, and I've been out of

No, I was merely pointing out that full-text-quoting a guy that most of
us have kill-filed only serves to feed the troll by giving him more
exposure. You did the same thing and I just sighed sadly, having just

In case you hadn't noticed, there is little chance to

How does that work? I was just looking through all my menus in Agent
to see if there was an "import killfile addresses" or similar and
there was not. I'm not sure I'd just import a big list but I'm not so
    sure I wouldn't either.

Of course some enterprising person could implement slashcode on a

personally think that a fairly implemented /code version of MFW has a
chance of getting back several of the people who jumped ship.

I read some of the FAQ and what I really would like is this:

1.6 What plans are there for the future?

Currently, in approximate order of priority, I am thinking about the
    following:

    * Ability to import and export filters
    o As text files
o Directly from a web-site (tricky, but would be a nice
    feature).

That second one is especially tempting as it removes the need for 100
people to constantly update filters and instead just one can do it and
we could all download it. Granted that some person would have to take
the time to update it, probably daily but JMW seems willing.

Moot point I suppose as it is not implemented yet.
