Ya know, I have no idea.. But I think it would be a great addition,
along with the link to mIRC... and the way to find the chat room.

I could put both the Web and the direct IRC link in the FAQ, but I would
be reluctant to provide a link to mIRC, as it is a Windows-only client
and I then would have to also provide links to such Mac clients as Snak,
Ircle and Colloquy, and to *nix clients, such as IrcII, [censored], EPIC,
Xchat and KVIrc. While I know some Mac clients and can be reasonably
held responsible for my recommendations, I'm only very slightly familiar
with the purely text-based IrcII and not at all with any of other *nix
clients. Someone else would have to provide the info.

I can try to salvage what used to be on the site. So much of it was
changed ... I may have to start from scratch, and that's not in the
works for some time to come. I've forgotten most of the html I used
to know.

My hope is that we'll find someone who has more than just a passing
interest in the site, as well as the time, knowledge, and energy to
devote to it.

recfoodcooking.org site on one of our servers. He is out at the moment,
but will check tonight if he can get the info on the current "owner" and
see about taking it over... Would that suit you?

We have found the "whois" info. There is a contact phone number and and
an email address for John Robinson... we have sent him an email to find
out if he is prepared to let us take over, if that fails we will try to
phone.... Looks like the domain is paid up until 21 June 2006. BTW, by
"Barb", do you mean Barb Schaller? If so, will drop her a line and see
if she can help.

If we can't contact Mr Robinson, the other option is to register another
(similar) domain name and use that... but its not ideal - any
suggestions/comments?

considering upgrading the site to a Wiki.
I mailed him two weeks ago that you might be looking for him.
Because I collected and sent the money to him for domain name
registration, I have John Robinson's home address. We're paid up until
somewhere around April-June 2006.

This has been discussed last time. Damsel suggested
chaotic-kitchen.org, IIRC. Since "chaotic kitchen" has been in the rfc
logo ever since the T-shirt project, it passes very well indeed.

chaotic-kitchen.org, IIRC. Since "chaotic kitchen" has been in the rfc

We had a tentative reply to our initial email inquiry about the site
from John Robinson... think he wants to make sure we are "genuine" -
don't blame him. Told him to have a look at this thread, so we will have
to wait and see what what he thinks/says about the situation. Will let

Agreed. There was an article in the local (?) paper recently about how
the Wikipedia information isn't to be trusted without lots of other
research - apparently, it's popular for students who are writing papers
to consult Wikipedia.

I would be extremely hesitant to use it at this time. I have no experience
with it, but just from reading posts in some of the computer groups I read,
I would not want it on my website, provided I ever get it going 🙂 It
is a very definite catalyst for abuse. Just my 2cents and I'll leave the
thread gracefully now.
