No, it's never too late. ;-)
I've heard of light weight training in nursing homes and even in 80 y/o
females, it'll cause an increase in bone density!
Weight lifting is really about the only thing that will _reverse_
Osteoporosis AFAIK?
That's what I've heard too, and is another reason I started lifting. I have
a bone graft in my neck, and osteoarthritis further up, so strengthening
those bones is a MUST.

It's boring, but necessary.
Good conversation makes it go quickly too!
There is an older 'nam vet at my gym that sometims comes and talks at me
while I'm on the bike, and he is better than any book. ;-) 20 minutes
went by like nothing today.
That sounds awesome, I love talking to older people-it's always fascinated
me. Unfortunately, I work out at home, so I don't get that opportunity.

Quoted message said:I've thought about it and the biggest obstacle to trying to do an hour
is TIME! If I can get the guys to allow me to go to work at 10 pm
instead of 10:30, I can leave at 06:30 instead of 07:00, giving me that
extra 1/2 hour. We shall see!
Yeah, tell me about it! Even with not working, an hour a day is tough, and
now I need to add some yoga-my hams just aren't loosening up as much as I'd
like. Hope you can get your schedule adjusted so you can make it work!

back
to work.
Mmmm.... If only I did not have to work! <sigh>
I need to win the blasted lottery!
Won a whole $4.00 yesterday. <lol>
LMAO! I don't play, so my odds aren't too good<G>

Sounds excellent. I'd love to hear how you work your schedule with
working
nights, I will be also when I go back to work.
It's fantastic. I get off at 07:00 and get to the gym around 07:30.
Hardly anyone there and the AC works better with fewer sweating bodies,
AND I don't have to wait for the equipment so things go faster! I sleep
afternoons instead of mornings.
That sounds great! I wish I didn't have to get home right away, I'd
definitely go for that.

I don't have any kids, so it'll be more difficult for you.
Are you married? Can hubby help with the kids?
Have an SO, and he does help, but...his job often has him out till 9-10 pm,
so it's limited by that.

Cardio at home is always an option, and I may switch to that. Just wish
I could afford a "Life Cycle".
We just picked up an exercise bike that had a *free* sign on it, by the side
of the road<LOL> Looking forward to that since I can prop up a book while
I'm cycling.

OTHO, speed walking for an hour would make the dogs happy and be just as
good! :-) 'specially if I wear a weight belt.
There ya go! I must admit to wussing out on walking-there's all that
*weather* out there<LOL>

Quoted message said:Quoted message said:Yeah, tell me about it! John keeps promising to hook up the cable in the
basement so I can have the TV on while I'm doing it-I think I'm going to
have to kick his ass into gear today<GG>
Believe it or not, I prefer books to TV for cardio.
Takes more concentration so takes my mind more off of the peddling IMHO?
Oh, I'm sure, but the thing is, if I can cycle while watching Law and Order,
that will distract me too, since I love that show. And it's on almost every
night on USA, so it's not like I'd have to adjust my schedule to that.

YMMV. :-)
I also don't get much time to read so it's a treat.
Time to read????LOLOL I am going to look for something interesting to read
today when I'm shopping-SO STILL hasn't hooked up the damned cable! You can
bet your sweet ass he will be doing that tomorrow!
