  1. I've found over the past few months that if I indulge myself in ANY
starchy foods now, I get ill. The only exception is small amounts of
canned or fresh corn (on the cob). Bread I know makes me ill due to the
wheat proteins but I also cannot eat potatoes or rice anymore. Not even
    brown rice.

Last night I indulged myself in 1/2 of a bag of Act II popcorn.

Several hours later, I'm still sick from it. :-P

    WTF?

Not that it's a bad thing as it'll force me to avoid allowing myself
    that kind of thing.

I was out of pork rinds and I had an attack of the "crunchies".

    <sigh>

  3. Could be.. I got the attack of the crunchies the other night so I had
saltines with sardines.. paid for it with water retention. I really wanted
cream cheese and celery but it was too late at night to go get it.

Hypoglycaemia? Or it could simply be that you've lost the enzymes to digest
starches. Including ones you want to keep very gradually in small amounts
    might fix it.

  6. funny.. I could have sworn I never said they where.. I paid the price.. no
weight loss in over a week. Too much salt and too many saltines.. Though
thankfully MY success does not depend on one cheat. Your life may spin off

I sympathize. Saltines were second only to chips for me in terms of
    my areas of carb overindulgence.

I don't know a lot about this, but Gretchen Becker in her Type 2 Diabetes
    book implies that.

I suspect you might need to decide what starches you actually want to keep
in your lifetime WOE - whole grains and rye, perhaps? - and work small
quantities back into your diet as you increase the carb levels.

  15. "Ill" is a rather broad term.

Carb poisoning makes me feel lethargic.

However, "ill" could mean nausea, or hives, or the hershy squirts.

  16. This happens to me too. I call it the "carb hangover". Extreme lethargy,
water retention, feeling of general malaise. The one and only time I tried
to up my net carbs 15g in one day when moving into maintenance, the
    hangover lasted almost 72 hours.

That will take awhile but thanks! :-)
With 75 lbs. still to lose, I have no business eating any starch at all.
It was my bad to even do so. :-P

Chickens and ducks have no problems with popcorn. :-)
I've given it to them before when some dumbass gives me one of those
gift cans of 3 flavored popcorn for Christmas!

Yeah, I'm serious. They would enjoy it as a treat!

Most likely tho' I'll just give the rest of the box to Lynn' for her and
her kids. They can handle it just fine and it will be out of the house
    that way.

    I just won't buy anymore...

Upset stomach, full feeling, slight nausea and burping "popcorn" for
hours. It's just not digesting. :-P

I finally drank 1/2 a bottle of mag' citrate.
    That took care of it.

I'd rather have the squirts than the burps. ;-) Easier on my esophagus.
