  1. Sandra Lee or whoever she is is not worth the bandwidth, pro or con.

OB FOOD: Tomorrow I'll be making a couple of nice sole fillets. Maybe sole
piccata. I have a nice fresh lemon and would just need capers. Thinking of
steamed brussels sprouts to go with.

But, Jill, Sandra Lee is a representative of a lot of food people,
worthless that they are, if they espouse her concept. If you can't get
behind her concept (spend a gazillion dollars on 'tablescapes',
assorted booze, etc.) then, you just haven't gotten what her show it
    all about.

Yet another reason I don't pay for (or HAVE) Cable television. Read a book.
Even read HER book if you want to. But please quit yapping about her here.

  4. yes, but cable tv has a lot to reccomend it, watching a rerun of "The
Great Escape", right now. Sometimes, it's worth a few bucks a month to
get such quality shows. By the way, I read all sorts of books, visit
the library a couple of times a week; but, despite the fact you don't
have cable, doesn't make it a bad thing.

Now hold your gol'darn horses there Miss Jill. We read a lot of clap
trap by others (yourself and myself included) routinely. Who decides
which yapping is worthy and which is not?
I have actually enjoyed the posts about Sandra Lee. If you haven't, just
skip reading them. But lets be fair, ok?

History Channel (we get three of them)
    Travel Channel
Discovery (we get four or five of them, especially like Discovery HD)
    Learning Channel
    Food Channel. (I like Unwrapped)

  10. Goomba ... a voice in the wilderness that is coherent ... let's face
it, sometimes, yapping is just yapping, other times, it's hilarious.
Sandra Lee, in and of herself, is hilarious. You can watch all sorts of
stuff and not giggle uncontrollably (sp?) when watching her attempts at
fine dining. Just because Jill doesn't have cable, makes her a
cable challenged person, not, a person who doesn't have a clue, because
    she's never seen the shows!!

The same could be said for politics and religion. They don't belong here,
and I don't really care what anyone else thinks about it. This *is* a
cooking group. Until the supreme court begins publishing recipes...

The problem with marking such posts as "OT", off topic, is that there are
other actual food related posts that are also marked OT. It makes it
virtually impossible to filter the totally off topic posts.

LOL. I do not have "cable" either. Even if I did, I doubt we could get
the same channels as in the US... So I get a laugh out of some of these
    threads - especially when I can't sleep 🙂

Okay, I'll be fair. I have no idea who she is nor do I want to. As long as
her name is in the topic I'll know to skip reading it.

Again, probably going to do sole piccata tomorrow. Sole is a very delicate
fish so it requires a large spatula for turning lest the fillets fall apart.
I'll use very mildly seasoned breadcrumbs, a dry white wine, fresh lemon
    juice and rinsed capers.

  18. What doesn't belong here? Sandra Lee has a cooking show on FNTV, yes,
that's Food Network TV. Why isn't this topic acceptable to you as a
viable topic for discussion. Maybe you and Jill should just get
together and decide what is and isn't a genuine topic for discussion on
rfc. Of course, we know that Jill doesn't have cable, so she, doesn't
have a clue about the [censored] that is on. I suspect that you, Wayne, do
have cable, and, just want to stir the pot.

Did I say anything at all about Sandra Lee? No!

I do have cable, but my cable service does not cary Food Network TV. I
have never seen Sandra Lee. I stir my own pots, thank you. I do not need
    your help.

My comment was solely about totally off-topic posts. Perhaps it would have
been best in its own thread.
