Can you tell me what is correct approach to Low carb? I don't want to completely go on Atkins but with cravings after eating carbs I'm thinking I need to be a low carber ! Today I ate 2 srambled eggs with 2 soy sausage , ground turkey with cauliflower, chcken and ground turkey with green beans . I'm drinking lots of water too. Is this good so far?
What you are eating sounds right on. I know a lot of people who just cut out the carby stuff and lose weight and feel better. The correct approach is the one that works for you. That means it helps you lose weight if that is one of your goals, it reduces your hunger, makes you feel better and is comfortable for you to maintain.

And why would you want to roll your own, rather than follow the Atkins plan, which is quite simple and effective? Sounds like what you are on is the induction phase of Atkins anyway.

Can you identify why you "don't want to completely go on Atkins"? Dr Atkins actually created a quite good and healthy program that has allowed many people to do remarkably well. While many people like to include Atkins bars and shakes, the plan actually calls for a healthy mixture of protein foods, fats and non-starchy or sugary vegetables and salads. A lot of us, me included, have had success without ever touching an Atkins-branded product except the book.
I suggest, if you haven't already done so, READ the Atkins book. Not a 2-page Women's Magazine overview. Not your best friend's cousin's brother-in-law's precis of it but Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution. Paperbacks are readily available in many bookstores, or even at the local library. If you like, there are other plans out there that are LC which don't have the Atkins name on them. Try Protein Power by Drs Michael and Mary Dan Eades. Try the South Beach diet, which claims not to be LC but ends up that way anyway. Dana Carpender's How I Gave Up My Low-Fat Diet (and lost 40 pounds) gives an excellent overview of many LC plans out there - I highly recommend this one if you can only afford one book.
Reading the basics from the source(s) is one of the best tools you can give yourself in your LC way of life.
I think you don't actually know what the Atkins diet is. You have just heard rumors and snippets from people who don't know. Before dismissing it, study it!
you could check out the book "Atkins for Life" in it, they specifically mention people who dont need to lose a lot of weight, and how to low-carb for life, it gave some really good info.....

Anyways, I NEED to get away from carbs as my cravings are UNDER CONTROL now! It is wonderful adivice from you people! THANKS! I think I've fond me real answer to a PROPER DIET! LC !!

What is the RIGHT number of carbs? I don't count cals.
I can only speak to Atkins. In a nutshell: for the first two weeks (known as "Induction"😉 you limit carbs to 20 per day, which should mostly be in the form of vegetables. After two weeks (which is more to give your body time to adjust to burning fat rather than burning glycogen for fuel, not to mention dump excess water weight associated with the accumulated glycogen store) add 5 more carbs per day for a week. Each week, add back 5 carbs per day for a week at a time until you stop losing weight. Then back down by 5 carbs. That's it. Some carbs are not allowed during the first two weeks (such as nuts), but can be added back in after that as long as they fall within your daily carb budget. See http://www.atkins.com for a list of allowable foods. See other websites for rules regarding other low-carb diets.

Depends. I'd suggest you pick up a book or two on the subject and start reading ASAP. Until you can finish reading one of the books and figure it out, keep your carbs under 30g or so/day and stick mainly to whole foods like meat/fowl/seafood, eggs, veg, salads. Avoid meal replacement shakes or bars, LC convenience foods in general, sugar free candy, etc. Read labels.
I don't mean to imply that LC can't be done without following a specific plan (I don't anymore), but one reason why folks keep recommending that you get a book and read it is so you'll develop the knowledge base to make informed decisions for yourself.
If you're leaning towards a more moderate approach, I recommend reading either Protein Power or South Beach Diet (or both).
