There are a couple of ways to get to Pen-y-Fan. If you want to include
Cribyn as well perhaps an easterly approach would be better - there are
a few alternatives, a good one but a bit longer than some would be the
route from Talybont reservoir. Check your map for the route.
Alternatively take the Gap road (Old Roman Road) from the North and turn
right at the gap (col) between Cribyn and Fan-y-Big,

A few alternatives are available.

Err, have you checked the weather forecast? I mean I know you can't
believe forecasts, but frankly it's =already= awash, so even if we don't

Talking about getting irritated... there is only ONE Brecon, and
far from being a mountain it's a city, with a rather nice little
cathedral that it kindly shares with Swansea.

Dawlish in Cornwall - that'll be fun (not). Wales gets it in about
two hours.....

Young at heart you see :-)

Don't forget I worked most of my life surveying on open land, farms,
commons etc. It is in the blood but not moving so fast these days :-)

BTW Geraint and I did a couple of miles near the source of the Tawe this
afternoon - and yes, it was still wild, windy and raining :-(

Of course Geraint was in 4 wheel drive :-)

It must have been a hell of a storm. Last time I was there, Dawlish was in
Devon about a dozen miles down the coast from Exeter, half way to Torquay.
That makes it around 40-50 miles from Cornwall. Hell of a storm.
