The lumpy bits are the Brecon /Beacons/, so if you want to refer to them as a collective plural please call them the Beacons, and NOT the 'Brecons'. *shudder* Thank you.

I bought Explorer OL12 today - "Brecon Beacons National Park/Parc Cenedlaethol Bannau Brycheiniog - in preparation for my trip to .... well, I dunno, that's why I bought a map!
(I'll let you know where/when I am going when I make my mind up. Paul and Bill are poised for a Mid/South-Wales meet. It'll be sometime between Fri 12th and Fri 19th November.)

well,if it is the 12-14, I'll see yall there. A few of us going up for the weekend. Just installing OL12 & 13 into tracklogs for a first route planning session. We will probably do a long route that encompasses Pen y Fan (but not the main tourist one) on the Sat with something shorter on the Sun.
Anybody recommend a camp site that will be open with HOT showers, loos and a decent pub nearby? As there will probably be too many of us to wild camp we might as well enjoy some luxuries :-)

Your recommendations will be useful for a trip I'm planning in March or April.
What I really need is a campsite near a pub (for mates and I). The campsite will also take caravans (for my in laws) and be near a B&B or cheap hotel (for my parents).

Wednesdays I'm free all day and I can be free all day on Thursdays as well. Tuesdays and Fridays are tricky because I'm supposed to be at college in the afternoon and if I miss a day it's a fair amount to catch up. I'm free on Mondays as well, but that's not a lot of use if you're not...
