After 2 years and 9 months the Check Engine light is finally off on my Jeep Cherokee. It came on during our Feb 2003 trip to Gooseberry Mesa, and because of various secret organizations conspiring against me and misleading me regarding the trouble code P0720 it took me until now to get it resolved at a more reasonable cost than these evil organizations had led me to believe.
So, what does this mean to a.m-b?

I'm pretty set on that unless I can put together a Soma Double Cross with decent spec for the same price, or if I find a 2005 or earlier Jamis Nova in the next week.

'twasn't too big a deal, it even passed smog two years ago. This time, even though my smog numbers were fine the smog machine wouldn't let it pass just because of the trouble code. I've been without current registration since July. I'll get it smogged Monday and I'll have new tags well before the end of the year.
I'd be happy to drive Sunday. You'll have to keep an eye on the trails of Mt Lukens as we circumnavigate it on the way to and from the trailhead. We can check out the south and westside of Lukens on the way there, and the north and eastside on the way back.

I never said they were stupid for road bikes. ;-) Although the Jake, Double Cross, or Nova will get plenty of action off the road, it will be my GRSing, 'cross racing, commuting, fire roading all-rounder. And I'll repurpose my Bontrager back to being a mtn bike as it should be.

Who cares if they're "mindless" or not? It worked well for me when I was competing and it works well for many people if they're training for cycling or just using it to get in shape. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it wrong.
