I have never had the bolt that holds the seat to the post break, but it happened last fall, when I was about 10 miles from home. There was no way to put it back on, and I had to ride those 10 miles standing in the pedals. I unconsciously sat back once, right on the post...only once. I think I hit notes only dogs could hear... Now I carry extra bolts, as well as every tool I can think of I might need. (Actually, it's only a leatherman, a small socket wrench, 2 sockets, a couple of allen wrenches and a small crescent wrench.)
