  1. Venison is disgusting. How can anyone eat that stuff. I can not
stand it. And why is is called venison anyhow? I'd rather see the
deer run in my fields, and even eat my corn than see them killed, and
I know few people who can even tolerate easting that meat, if you want
to call it "meat". Hunters just kill them because they love
    bloodshed.

Worse yet, are the damn hunters. I live in a rural area on a farm and
I hate hunters. Everytime it's hunting season I got to listen to all
the drunken, braindead, redneck, murdering hunters shooting at
anything that moves, and often things that dont move. I guess the
idea is to go out there and unload as much ammunition as possible and
cause as much bloodshed at they can while they terrorise nature in the
woods, and private farm lands. At this time I am forced to lock all
my livestock in barns, which costs me several hundred dollars for
extra feed, and damage to the buildings because they are packed too
tightly inside and because they cant be outdoors grazing.

Worse yet, there are always a few disoriented hunters who are so
goddamn intoxicated they cant read my "No Trespassing" signs, and
trespass on my land. Of course I ALWAYS prosecute after the sheriffs
arive, and always hope they get some prison time, even though they
usually just get a small fine., because the law enforcement sides with
    them [censored].

Out of frustration and aggravation, I've made a game of all of this.
Everytime I hear a shot, I yell out "I HOPE YOU SHOT YOUR MOTHER" "I
HOPE YOU SHOT YOUR FATHER" "I HOPE YOU SHOT YOUR BROTHER" "I HOPE YOU
SHOT YOUR UNCLE" "I HOPE YOU SHOT YOUR WIFE" and the list of people I
wish they would shoot goes on. Everytime it's different...... In
reality, I WISH THEY WOULD SHOOT THEMSELVES. The quicker these
terrorists die, the better !!!!!!! And dont fool yourself. Pres.
Bush claims the terrorists are all in Iraq, Iran, and other foreign
nations. In reality most of them live right here in the USA. and go
berzerk every year during hunting season.

By the way, last year one of these idiots parked his fancy pickup
truck in my private roadway so I could not get out of my land without
driving thru the corn field. I'm still wondering what this [censored]
did when he found his piece of [censored] shoved in the ditch and well
dented. I just had a little fun using my Bobcat. He's lucky I didn't
flip it on it's side, because I had considered that.

I hate hunting season, and unfortunately it's that time of year once
again. I just hope lots of hunters die this year!!!!!!

I like venison, especially venison gravy, but I wouldn't want to eat a
    hunter either.
A venison-fed hunter would be worse, but since the hunters don't eat
them--they only kill them out of bloodthirstiness--I don't think
    you'll find many venison-fed hunters.

    Maybe corn-fed hunters.

That does sound good. I like making them with peanut butter
(plus marshmallows), and you can even pour melted white chocolate
on top, too. I still have Krispies left from last year, too.

I think I know what I'm making tonight. You've made my Saturday

Obviously! Oh, and popcorn is also an essential nutrient. Have some on the
    side 🙂

That made me laugh! I don't know what it is with those things,
why do I get occasional cravings for them? I call them stupid food.

If venison is so "disgusting" why do high class, gourmet restaurants
    sell and serve it ?

Venison as well as Bison meat are among the MOST healthy red meats you
can eat. If you do not prepare it and cook it properly, then it will
    not be flavorful and tender.

As for the "so called hunters" that just shoot a deer to mount on the
wall, I have no respect for them and neither do real hunters. A real
hunter (or fisherman) cleans and eat what they shoot (or catch ).
Unfortunately, there is no "catch and release" with hunting.

Try using a dictionary for the etymology of venison. You've
obviously never had it cooked properly and it is a very low-fat
    meat.

As far as I am concerned, deer, while pretty animals that are
far too abundant and which can eat damn near anything vegetable.
If I knew a plant that reliably poisoned herbivores I would grow
it for the benefit of the deer.

Residing in a first tier suburb, I feel that way about squirrels. You
should be allowed to kill them as long as you don't use a weapon that
would likely endanger other humans. Slingshots should be A-OK.

As we speak, I hear gun shots. The season to be jolly.

This is a picture I've posted previously. Still makes me mad. Died in our
yard, we hauled it off. [censored]!

And speaking of rats -- well, mice -- $354+ yesterday to get something
replaced that a mouse chewed thru on the car.
Seems that there is something in a Mazda's wiring that is made of soy or
reminds them of soy and off they go, chewing away, so DH is reading online.

It's funny, but tragic how much damage field mice do to cars; as well as
    deer do to our garden.
I've been really ticked (no pun intended) about the deer loving our arugula.
DH has been getting an ear-full about getting the fence up again. It is
    absolutely futile otherwise.

I'm curious why you say that deer hunters don't eat their venison.
I've never known anyone that hunts deer as a trophy animal, only for
food. What part of the country do you live in? -aem

I use the shorter, if less accurate term, hornrats tho' I guess
    hoofrats would work too!
