Yeah, I guess. It was a couple of years before someone told me how bad it was, so blissfully unaware
of its dangers I put many thousands of miles on tubulars held on by Jantex without a problem,
including lots of up and down mountains.

The only problem I ever had with the old Jantex tape was in very hot weather. Rear tires tended to
do a slow peel off the rim. However, it wasn't messy to use compared to glue. :)

Some of the nicest people I know. They are the ones I search out on a group ride just in case we
need to share spares.

Are you saying all clincher riders should carry a spare tire?

As is the case with tubulars.

Agreed, both are a hassle.

Why not? It's no heavier nor bulkier than a tubular tire.

I once toured on tubulars. The nightly ritual of sewing got tired real fast.

Typically not necessary. I've never had a failure in a clincher that I couldn't fix with a tube,
patch kit, and/or a small boot. If you need more than that, your problems will often go beyond tire
replacement into the realm of things like rim replacement (done that, been there).
