Some people do skull crushers while standing up, is there a diff?
In google image search, the skull crushers photos showed them lying
horizontally. I had never heard that term before; in fact, why use it?

How old are you? And have you never read anything at all about
bodybuilding or weight training? I mean, it's not as if lying french
presses are some science fiction/fantasy exercise that's just been
sprung on an unsuspecting and clueless world.
Well, then again...

Yeah. The ones done standing up are not skull crushers.

That's how they're done.

During the exercise you lower the weight to the forehead. If you
drop the weight it will land on your skull and crush it; at
least that's the idea behind the name. Another name for the
exercise is the French Press.

That's the standing up alternative the OP was wondering about (but you
have to say 'I surrender' when you reach failure).

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

'coz if you drop the barbell, you will crush your skull. ;-)
I suppose you could do them standing, but I prefer supine.
I can focus better.

If you had read your e-mail recently you would know that I was forced
to take an extremely expensive item back for a refund, rather than
finding a way to use it for weight lifting or Harley Riding.

Yes, I read that elsewhere in this ng. And I recently read your email.
I thought you still had the item. Regardless, enjoy the rest of your
weekend.
