    I wonder if pros are so awesome that they can train anyway which way they like [within reason] and still pound out great rides.

    Because it can be tough to determine if they achieved success because of or in spite of their training regimes.

    True story - I met an American UCI-rider at the gym who was telling me of his good times down @ the Tour of Oz. He was drinking himself silly before a race with some Euro-pros. One of them took the bunch sprint. He also told me to get off the spinning bike and lift weights. 😉 😄 :eek:
