OK, so the 6th Stage of the Tour de Georgia bike race is coming to
Stone Mountain this afternoon. I'm heading out there in 30
minutes to watch the finish. Unless the traffic's too bad.... in
which case I'm prepared to punt without prejudice.
But the Tour de Pain is something different... it's a series of
three races in Jacksonville, Florida, consisting of a 4-miler on
Friday evening, a 5K on Saturday morning, and a 1-mile run on
Saturday night.
Since it's unlikely I'll go to Jacksonville for their version of
the TDP, I thought I'd organize my very own TDP this weekend.
So... I ran a 5K last night in Loganville, Ga at 7:45 PM - the
Scholarship Run.
This morning (Saturday) I ran the Homestretch Challenge 5K at 7:40
AM in Roswell, GA.
After finishing the 5K, I ran the Homestretch Challenge 10K at
8:15 AM -- same venue.
In effect, I compressed Jacksonville's version of TDP time from 24
hours to 12 hours -- and added racing distance... to make it more
interesting.
Results?
Friday 7:45 PM 5K - 19:31, 11/147, 1st AG
Saturday 7:40 AM 5K -19:30, 8/226, 1st Master
Saturday 8:15 AM 10K - 41:45, 15/216, 1st AG

Tomorrow (Sunday) there's another 5K in the afternoon. The madness
continues. Pray for me.
