I have already seen people riding around here with their elbows resting on the tops, hands folded in front. Next we will see someone with 70 water bottles. This weekend's racing will have riders incessantly dumping water on themselves.
This could be worse than the ubiquitous presence of Treks on the road.

IMO, anything is better than the army of grimacing Lance Alikes on their Treks.

Lance Alikes? Most of the ones I've seen have been twice the man Lance ever was. Assuming, of course, that the measure of a man is his waistline. I like to think it is.

Are you talking about my neighbor? He could care less about cycling or the tour now that Lance is gone.

It's already begun. On this mornings group ride/race, I had someone dump his water bottle on his head right in front of me. And I got all the splash off from his never been washed helmet. Mind you, we were only 10 miles out and it wasn't NEARLY as hot as it's been. Yech

Waistlines? It's not about waistlines. It's about the This Is Very Serious Business Lance Armstrong Wannabe Grimace. AKA, "the more I scowl, the faster I go (in my imagination)".

That Phonak jersey's no thing of beauty.
Yeah, but at least Floyd isn't an arrogant ass, so things won't be so grim when everyone Wants To Be Like Floyd.

On the plus side everyone might just relax and go back to eating junk food and drinking beer.

I saw Landis drinking during the ITT today, two minutes after the start.

I've been seeing them in the woods even. Last week a couple, both in full Disco livery on matching Trek mountain bikes and of course wearing matching helmets on a trail system that couldn't concuss an over ripe tomato.

Holy [censored] Tim I'm massively more man than Lance! I'd actually bet I could still kick his ass in a deadlifting competition, even with my back, and maybe a 12oz. curl battle since I trained in Bavaria. I knew Lance sucked!!! Bill C
Agreed; to be like Floyd you have to be a decent human being. To be like LA, well...
And of course you've spent so much time with Lance you're the authority there.
One cannot judge another's behavior from outside a direct personal realtionship? Do I have to be related to you to despise you?
Agreed, I think we are discussing the perception of someone's public persona. For example, IMO, LeMond always came off as a guy I would like to ride with and share a beer apres ride, even if he weren't a famous cyclist. OTOH, The Lance always struck me as the kind of person I would take pains to avoid, whatever his level of accomplishment or fame.
Landis makes a pretty positive impression as a genuinely good guy, at least at this point.

One certainly needs to know something beyond news reports on Lance to make the slightest judgement. But I'd be surprised if you had HALF that amount of knowledge about Lance. You're simply the little loudmouthed [censored]-boy types that show up here around Tour time with your opinions in lue of knowledge.
