I think Mobile want out of the sport - that's what I am hearing. Mobile's marketing people think that sport in general terms is seen as a haven for doping and they don't want their product to be associated with the sport.
Seems that football isn't perceived to have a drug problem.

I wonder if this could be true: In a German forum rumor has it that Tom Boonen and Damiano Cunego might change to TMO in 2007.

I would be very surprised that Cunego would move teams. He has it quite to his liking at Lampre, has already stated that he will focus on the Giro next year (is TMO going to focus on the Giro?). I think it is just a rumor. Of course, a lot would depend on the money involved! 😉

No Cunego is focusing on the classics ! Where did you hear about the Giro ? He has stated he is young and needs time to develop into a GT rider therefore should go for classics and win them until such time....

Yes TM has a license for 4 years but the rumour in Germany is: they look at the results in the coming 2 years and are thinking about leaving the sport if the results aren't good enough...

He decided to leave because he thinks the Tour team did a great job. He also said that if Ludwig and Kummer wouldn't have made such big mistakes during the Tour he would have won it....

Sounds like the usual badmouthing done by some when changing the team. After all, TM will be with new management shortly. Ludwig/Kummer are yesterday's old hat. So I doubt that this is the real cause of his decision.

I doubt that: TM published on their own website that they didn't give Kessler an offer for a new contract. Kessler is joining Klöden to Astana and if you saw the Tour you would know Kessler was very important for Klöden....

Well,well,well...I just learned that Kloeden had an offer from Gerolsteiner (which I did not know when I previously posted). Now, this gives Kloeden's decision a completely different "smell".
Given he is that anry at TM, Gerolsteiner would have been a wonderful team for him after Levi's leaving. There being team captain and all. If then he decides in favor of Astana (to be second behind Vino) I assume it was for the money - heavens, 1.5 mio Euro is an amount that Gerolsteiner could hardly offer.
Unless, of course, he does not like these "dope free" guidelines which the German teams are now coming up with. But this is pure speculation so I'll leave it at that.

Kessler is a demon.... hardcore.... he could walk onto any team...... On EuroSport Christy Anderson couldn't understand why Kessler wasn't going for "overall" at the Tour after Jan was suspended ! That chic knows nothing..... Kessler is the hardest of hard men..... if he wasn’t sick at the start of the year he could of given Boonen and co are run for there money in the classics….

Astana will not only pay him more, his manager (Rominger) will also work for Astana. Amost all riders who have Rominger as a manager will join Astana (Haselbacher, Kessler, Klöden) next year.

Kloden was the most consistent contender in the TDF this year. Look at the stage finishes. No one on the T-Mobile team has been sanctioned for doping to my knowledge except for Honchar. I posted this fact a while back and at the time he was sanctioned for a couple of weeks at a time for high hematocrit levels. Let me think inconsistent riders. Vino,Leipheimer,Landis,Valverde,Sastre,Hincapie etc. I am not sure what that has to do with anything. Just show me facts not biased speculation. We can speculate about UFO's if you wish and there are more witness to chose from and more written evidence about those.

They let Zabel go because he didn't get along with the rest of the team. I know this ...from the rest of the team. It is possible T-Mobile had suspicions, but still only speculation. My sources tell me that there are bad feeling because of Jan and his situation. Kessler and especially Kloden had conflicts with team management because of Jan's exclusion from the tour. However, I won't try and convince you, but if I get some good info I will post it and you can take it as you wish.
