*my idea of a street comp would have all the contenders... pitch in
for a minibus (entry fee) and drive around the city to (found and
known to be good) places that have a few good objects to ride on.
possibly make each place a round of the comp, and get the other
unicyclists to judge on which trick was the gnarliest of the place.
and at the end they all judge on who did the best total.
    *

That's a great idea! Very underground and street! If there were lots of
competitors then the comp will take longer and would probably have to be
held at legal spots during the day (ie a tour de local skateparks/city
squares etc). I like the concept.

  2. if you get kicked out of places... it would suck, but you just need to
go to the next place on your list.

in australia we have a lot less "rent 'a' scum" on power trips than in
the states. usually the only people to seriously kick us out are the
cops (and lawyers). and thats for riding with no lid or riding in a
fountain (that's a new law apparently)

luckily there arent that many riders who would be in on a comp like
this, too many riders just yet isnt an issue. i would imagine that there
would be a fair few non-serious competitors who are happy to watch the
other riders going big(and tech for all you tech junkies)
you could make it like the MUni weekends in terms of organisation, maybe
go to 2 cities if 1 isnt enough over 2 days.
if it gets organised like muni weekends, you probably might get more
people going. ie myself (if i can get a sponsor to fly me over there)
    haha.

find "riding holes" with lots of things to work your magic on so more
than 1 rider can bust out at a time. that takes away the competition
aspect a little but the comp wouldnt be about competing really, just
getting all the riders together and seeing who can pull the coolest [censored]
    on the day.

*oh and no trials riding* if there is, there better be a 360 off the end
    or something along those lines.

  3. My opinion is that videos are a better forum for street unicycling, just
because i don't like the idea of having to decide winners by way of a
    judge

that's not to say i think street contests are a bad idea, but i think
that videos are where street unicycling can best be show cased

  4. i ride street, i haven't done much serious riding though since around
    when i started.

serious meaning, trying to nail new tricks and progressing in one's
ability and stuff. i've just been relaxed about it.

it's hard when you don't have anyone to ride with, even non unicyclists.
i don't have anyone where i live. bet i could change that though, and
then i'll be all over street stuff.

i have an assload of moves i could do if i practiced them and that i
    don't see many people doing.

    unicycle form.

*Love park would be perfect for a street comp. Too bad it was closed.
