steve-<< I have a bike that is about 3 years old with Shimano 6501 STI levers. Recently the right
lever stopped up-shifting. I did the WD-40 flush trick which seems to have brought it back to life
temporarily. Is there anything else that I should do to increase the life expectancy?

Nothing else, and 2 year warranty.
Campagnolo ERGO and rear der will work with your 9s drivetrain, either the 9s or the 10s w/o
modification and you will never have the "STI" failed gotta throw it away syndrome..Campagnolo are
repairable.
Steve-<< Is this a sign of impending permanent failure? Has Shimano been replacing these as a good
will gesture even if they are officially out of warranty? >>

yes it is and two year warranty for 6500 stuff-shimano will not replace out of warranty. Campagnolo
is 3 year on everything BTW-
steve- << It seems like a shifter that costs this much money should last longer than 2 or 3 years.
