Saddle Sores and Scars and Suffering and Sorrow and Pain and Long-Term Damage

Please, spare me the armchair psychology. Saddle sores and discomfort are a normal part of cycling, regardless of how "tough" you are. It's not about being coddled, it's about being smart and taking care of your body. You think the pros don't use padded shorts and ergonomic saddles? They're not just for show, they're for comfort and performance. And let's not even get started on the idea that mental toughness can overcome basic human physiology. Newsflash: our bodies have limits, and ignoring those limits can lead to serious injury. So, no, I don't think the cycling community is somehow flawed because we prioritize comfort and safety. 👎

So we’re all about comfort and smart gear now? Really? I mean, since when did cycling turn into a cushy spa day? Sure, padded shorts might help, but isn't that just a band-aid for a lack of grit? If we can’t hack the saddle after a few hours, what's next? Are we gonna start mixing in yoga sessions with our long rides? It’s like we’re trading real endurance for a soft ride. What happened to the days of pushing through the pain and earning those miles? If we’re all just avoiding discomfort, are we even cyclists anymore?
