Dutchy, Ess, GPL, myself. At 7:25, GPL thought it was just us two.
Bit of slickness with the roads, and a tiny bit of drizzle up Clintons
road. At smith's gully, it rained a bit while we were inside (about
10 seconds after we sat down), but this disappeared well before we got
out. And to think that I looked at the radar in the morning just
hoping it was pissing down so I could have an excuse to stay in bed.
Cake report: OK, so last time, I determined the carrot cake was highly
recommendable. This time, the apple cake was OK, but a bit of a burnt
aftertaste. It was large and satisfying though (is that orgasm thread
still going? I don't know, my killfile has taken care of it).
On the time trial, I developed a stich which kept with me on and off
all the way to the bouli. I just throttled back whenever it happened.
I also recalled that was the biggest reason why I always loathed
running. I managed to miss the carni yelling out "pay road taxes".
Plenty of fools overtaking where there wasn't room, and one fool
coming around the corner on the wrong side of the road, doing about
100km/h.
Dutchy: What do you mean yarra st is hard?
OK, so I cheated and used the small ring. Next time, I have to limit
myself to the middle ring.
Geez I feel good. I knew it was going to be a good day when I hadn't
bonked going up Kew boulavard.
No mishaps at all this week. Have to try harder next ride (probably
not next week - got an 160km MBTC ATB training ride I really want to
do. Do you reckon I can pick up 3 flaggons of port from the winery on
my way past Bacchus Marsh?)
