how much do you want for the miyata seat base?

    brian *

I also have a miyata seatbase and a KH seatbase, too. Both have broken
reinforcement plates. Brian, you can have the miyata seatbase, if you
want. I'll give it to you at CMW, or the next time you come to SF.

    *Update:

    Have:

Schwinn frame-used but w/o flaws. Bearing fine. Grip tape added to
    crown for extra gripping action.

Scwinn wheelset, 28 spoke used but fine

140mm Dotek cranks, black, used slightly, straight, no scratches, fit
    tight on taper hub

    Dyno fireball 20X2.1(?) tire

United deluxe pedals, used but in good shape, black

United seat, used, fine except chuck of foam missing on side---doesn't
interfere with riding but may affect seat out hopping. I think its the
    left side.

Viscount seat, used but fine, bumper guards epoxied and rescrewed with
    self tapping screws.

    Odessey Twisted PC pedals

    Miyata plastic seat plate

Schwinn style seat post (with holes), 400mm

    Miyata seat post, 400mm

    KH seat used but fine

    Kh seat post, 25.4mm (1''😉X about 275mm

Dyno fireball 24X3 tire, used. Rideable but not for me. I'm too heavy.
The tread is as it was the day I got it, but the sidewalls are too
    thin for me.

1 pimpin 24'' uni with 50mm cottered cranks and a tire with the words
"ride hard" and skulls. Concord c. 1952? Complete uni is fun to cruise
    on.

    Need:
A 24'' tire that is good for trials/urban assault riding...I'm open
minded. Currently using fireball or gazz 3.0 depending on mood. Would
consider Maxxis hookworm. Preferably an urban W hookworm.

A DH tube, must be new. I'll prolly just buy this locally

Carbon Fiber seat base. Preferably pre drilled for a Schwinn style
    post, but any will do.

So, you see what I have to offer, can anybody help me?

  5. I have a hookworm, and it's a great freestyle tire. However, it's a
horrible tire at low PSI. You probably wouldn't like it for trials.

  6. Well my thinking is that a fireball has paper sidewalls. Whereas a
hookworm is tread all over. Meaning it must be thicker. Especially the
    urban W, which is 2-ply.

Hey catboy, I don't think you want a set of montys, especially 140s. I
have a set of 158s, and they come loose constantly. I've heard the 140s
are evern worse. They also aren't very strong. I would reccomend doteks
or bike euros. Just not the monty.

I have bent 2 sets of bike euro's already. I can fix cranks coming loose
but bending cranks off little 3' drops sucks...

  16. I agree, bending cranks sucks, but Monty's won't fix that. I'd get
something splined if you regularly bend cranks. Or just don't focus on
big drops. I haven't done a drop greater than 30" for the last 2
    weeks.

To keep this on topic, I'm soon to be selling my Onza wheel (not because
it is any worse off than before, but simply because I just got a set of
profiles, and I don't think it's worth it to tear apart this wheel just
for the rim). It's 19" trials with 140mm cranks, dx-32 rim, 40 spline
single keyway hub, 40mm bearings, missing the right dustcap. No tire
included although I will send along an 8mm allen wrench for thightening
the cranks. The bolt on the left crank is hard to tighten, but it is
doable. The rim is pretty true, the spokes are tensioned, although I
have replaced 2 spoke nipples. There are a few superficial scratches
from removing the tire, but otherwise the wheel isn't bad. This is by no
means a new wheel, so I'm selling it at a price that I deem to fit. I
was thinking of charging around $75, including shipping. This wheel is
not for you if you are doing giant drops regularly, or if you are
dropping over 3' to flat with bad form. I have noticed a bit of spline
or keyway play occasionally, but it's not about to break. I keep all the
    splines anti-seized.

The wheel is definitely stronger than any non-splined setups out there
(except muniac, which costs around $250), but I repeat, it's definitely
not new and has plenty of use on it. There are extensive grind marks on
the left crank, and a bit of scratches on the right one. These shouldn't
weaken it any. I think this is a good intermediate wheel. Basically, if
you are bending lots of bike euro's but not ready to shell out the money
for a new KH or Onza, this could be for you. I probably won't be selling
this wheel for another week or two, but if you are interested please PM
    me.
