  1. I had a policeman ask me once if I had "a license for that thing".

  3. comment already posted here:
a very young child tells his mum :
    - look mum the man has broken his bike!

    the mum (absentmindedly)
    - no he's got a folding bike !

    and another one:

I came panting at the top of the hill....
two old arabic gentlemen were sitting there in the sun:
"hay look mohamed what is this gentleman doing!
think of it! since he is at least 55!"
I was baffled: how did he guessed my exact age? (me doing everything to
    look younger :p )

bear (still panting when going uphill)

  4. Some of the funnier comments I've had:

Woman walking dog: "Are you MAD?"
Man on bike: "That's a unicycle isn't it? Weird!"
Mountain biker: "You're actually DOING that, aren't you"
My 4yo nephew: "You should get one like mine with two wheels, then you
    won't fall off so much."
Woman stopping small son running into my path: "Watch out, there's a man
on a ...(longish pause to think)... half a bike"

Apart from that, and the occasional "COOL!", all I get is the usual
missing wheel comments (becoming very annoying already and I've been
doing this for less than a year).

  5. The funniest I've ever heard was when I went by a group of wee kids and
one of them says "Look, that guy's riding a .............. thing!"

The strangest I'v ever heard was when going down Buchanan Street in
Glasgow (the main shopping street), some old guy says "Your brakes are
    coming loose" Eh?

When folk laugh at me falling I usually get up and go over to them,
offering them a go of the uni. They always decline so I say something
like "not so smart now are you!"

I even learnt to juggle so that when people ask "can you juggle too?" I
can say "Yes - get it up ye!!!"

*One time this mountainb!ke guy went by staring at me,as i passed he
exclaimed:"i cant even ride no handed on my twowheeled bike''.I just
looked at him and said"well...neither can I''.

    He looked pretty confused. *

Lol, I can't either, maybe if I practiced, cause I know kids who can
coast, and I see mennonites riding on the road like that sometimes. I
think riding a unicycle is a whole different ball game though.

  9. once riding throught the financial district in Toronto i was stopped by
a lare police officer yelling, "on the unicycle DIsmount!, i complied
and he motioned for me to come over. me thinking im gonna get a ticket
for tresspassing since they bust kids on skate boards all the time in
that area... i walk over ask if i can help the oficer and he with a kind
gesture asks where he can buy a unicycle for his 7 year old son. he saw
one on TV recently and his son wanted one for his birthday. luckly for
me i carry a few bedford unicycles cards since i do get asked on
occasion. i explained the basics of my unicycle and what his son would
need. he shook my hand and appologised for scaring the [censored] out of me.

anouther time while taking a long ride through the city i noticed an
altercation between a civilian and a parking authority officer i slowed
down to rubber neck and watch the show while doing this anouther guy was
    watching and remarked to me

"it must be a full moon (it was) these guys fighting you riding by on
    your motorcycle"

as i rode past i said "its a unicycle"

his responce (at this point i relaised he was intoxicated) "thats what i
said jack ass! you wanna fight about it?" he proceded in chasing after
me and in less then ten feet was winded and gave up. good thing i was on
    my 26er.

  14. One day I was at this park with my 5-year-old brother and a little girl
was playing on the swings. Right when she saw me she ran over to her
mom yelling, "LOOK! LOOK! A guy on a one-wheeler!" The mom didn't move
because she was playing with her other little kid. So, I went where she
couldn't see me behind the restrooms, the mom came out, and the mom just
said angrily, "Where is he? C'mon, are you tellin' fairy tails
    again?!?" 😄

  17. My favorite comment (still) was while riding muni, by a female mountain
    biker doing trail work.

I was riding with sweat pants on. After I drop into the creek, and make
the climb out, to the amazement of the work party, she yells "Take of
your pants... I want to see your.. legs!."

The snappy response I came up with (several days later): "Take off your
shirt... I want to see your... arms!"

  19. one time a hiker asked:"whats ammatter,a mountain b!ke to easy for
    you?''

I always get ''is that hard"? and i never know what to say.yes, its hard
to learn, but no,its easy for me.I always end up giving different answers
all the time.what SHOULD i say?

Dont you hate it when your just riding normally down the street or
somthing, and some old lady says" your so good at that!"
you feel like saying ''you dont know the half of it.''or showing off.or
    flipping her off.

for strictly scientific purposes mind you

I put a sock on her head

I wanted to find out if dogs used echo-location to move around

    turns out they don't
