Really ought to give them a try. I was astounded. Many of the dishes
were decent, or even better. None was unpalatable.

"cheaper than dirt" sells them I think.
I'd heard they have improved over the years, but....

How much sodium are they putting in these canned meals?

Actually, they aren't all that cheap. And they don't taste like they
are. I was surprised to find how well-designed the whole meals are and
how good the individual components are.

I have a few large cans of freeze dried meats and eggs that I purchased
from Nitro-Pak. Shelf life is over 10 years, and I've heard they can last
over 25 years without spoilage but taste may be off. I believe they are an
excellent alternative to fresh food in case of a disaster. They are
pre-cooked and can be reconstituted with cold water if necessary.

Pemmican is also a good choice, if you have lots of time for the
preparation. It also has a very long shelf life if made correctly and sealed
from moisture. I have made some of my own, but it's hard to keep enough
jerky around because it gets eaten to quickly. :o)
Since our good lives are so dependant on our infrastructure, we are quite
vulnerable if something were to happen. It makes good sense to be somewhat
prepared with extra supplies of basic needs. Stocking up was a way of life
for the settlers. Canning food could get you by in a bad crop year or could
be used for barter. Today, I like the convenience of just in time inventory
that our society provides, but I also like to have a little insurance, just
    in case.

    No, incompetent, illiterate [censored].

The statement was in contrast to the men who *did* whine. That the women
*didn't* because they weren't caught up in the stuff they *thought* they
knew. That they were objective, in contrast to the men. But noting that
information would have disrupted your fixation, huh...?

If you want to come after me, and you seem to want to, it would be good
if you at least read the whole thing first. Or had a bright 3rd grader
tell you what it actually means.

I note your shifting addresses. To evade killfiles?
