Not personally, but C+ always seem keen on his wheels. If it's just
wheels you need, consider Harry Rowland too (or build your own).

I've got one of his first frames, a road/TT design, which I had custom
built over 25 years ago.
Its superb , but hanging in the shed awaiting some new equipment.

There have been threads on another list about an unnamed Liverpool
wheelbuilder. They have not been very complimentay though. Don't know
wheteher it's him or not, but between the lines it does fit his self
description.

He has an article or "guest editorial" in the current Arrivee, which
I've just seen. The article is basically a thinly veiled advertisement
for Pete Matthews. He makes a number of assertions about wheels that
would have him torn to shreds if he posted them on r.b.t. He clearly
hasn't read Jobst Brandt.

I ought to mention that this doesn't necessarily mean there's anything
wrong with his wheels. Brandt himself says there are many wheel builders
who produce superb wheels while holding a number of misconceptions about
how they actually work.

Yes, I thought that would wake you up, Simon. The hanging/standing
thing did not come up although Matthews does incorrectly say that if
hitting a bump causes the lower spokes to go slack this over-stresses
other spokes by momentarily increasing their tension.

Reading that item was the second time in the perusal of that ish that caused
me to laugh myself silly (the first being That Man Marshall's writeup of the
Kernow & South-West 600). Responsive? I have not the words...
