Good point. There's usually some sort of event on the Meadows (Bankok Lady
Boys last few years I think). A quick check of the Fringe web site gives
<http://www.edfringe.com/shows/detail.php?action=venues&id=575> so you can
maybe use that to check your dates. If there's any doubt, just sell tickets
to your get-together, you might make a profit 🙂

People might think we're an alternative fringe of Fringe show. We might
even be able to sell tickets and make enough for a round of ice-creams! ;-)

It will probably be pretty busy, but it is a convenient central
location. Another possibility might be Holyrood Park as there is a nice
slope there but there is a lack of tarmacced path which might make it a
bit more difficult to learn on.

In the last 2 weeks I've had my photo taken 3 times while riding around
town. I would be marginally less annoyed had any of the camera clad

We might be lucky - it's the last day or last weekend of lots of the
festivals (Tattoo, Fringe, Book, & Film) so it's past the mid-August
peak.

Although it's a bank holiday weekend in England, so it might be quite
busy.

allowed to cycle in the meadows, so I don't know where the cycle tracks
are. However I've noticed that there is a track down across Bruntsfield
Links which passes close to EBC, and there also seems to be a track
along Middle Meadow Walk which presumably goes up along the walk
between the old Royal Infirmary and the backs of George Square.

I kind of guess that the walk that runs parallel to Lonsdale Terrace
will have cycle track too, and will cross the Middle Meadow Walk one,
yes?

Looks about right. It's pretty easy to find. There is a wide cycle /
footpath that runs North South, linking Melville Drive to Lauriston
Place. Just before it goes uphill (Heading north) theres a crossroads
with another cycle path which runs vaguely east-west. If all goes
according to plan, there should be a selection of unusual cycles there.

The East/West path on the North-most side of the Meadows (aka North
Meadow Walk) is a dual-use cyclepath, as a the path normal to this

years.

And what's the plan for between the meet and the show? (i.e. around
dinner time)

(The backstage bistro, on Valleyfield Street, i.e. just at one end of
North Meadow Walk, does an /excellent/ and v. cheap pre-theatre
dinner, but it's teeny, so booking would be required)

I suppose Pete and I should drop in on the friend we stay with (we should
really let him know sometime soon...) and get some keys and drop off the
bikes (or at least my 'bent) before heading into town for dinner and show.

does it actually mean a breakfast on Sunday? 🙂

Date: 28th August.
Time: Early afternoon meet. Dinner somewhere around 17:00 - 19:00. Show
starts 22:00.

The meet time is subject to movement depending on who can make it when.
