I upload and edit/remove links with Fetch. Very easy program to use and
they tend to keep the programs updated.

I thought it was just a mac program, but I've since learned that I am
wrong. I have not investigated it tho' for PC's.

The trick is just getting the original location from your ISP.

Well, that is what I do anyway. :-) I then get a pop-up that asks me if
I really want to delete the file.

It's a real time and money saver. The only reason I don't use mine more
often than tinypic is that they charge $5.00 per month per meg which is
assinine, so I have limited space.

I use tinypic more and just store the URL's in a text file with the
relevant picture folders.

Big deal. Command line FTP is done on Macs too and also for remote
access w/o Timbuktu. But most people use an FTP client like Fetch since
there are many other features.

Heh, I'm still using WS_FTP 95. Very few features there... :-)

I just upgraded to FileZilla from a free version of WS_FTP95 that had a
problem with dates after Y2K. Did they ever fix that? The program
worked fine other than the garbled dates, and did everything I needed or
wanted to do for many years.

I'm using version 5.08 and if you mean that it often thinks the
newer version of a file is the older one, then yes, it's still funky
that way. I just ignore it. But since I haven't been taking care of
my web site for a while now, I guess I'm not using it so much...

FTP is integrated into Windows Explorer VIA the usual Drag and
Drop and Network Newioghborhood in Win2K and up. It works just
like any other file browser window, and without using IE.
