I looked up W4NKR a while ago out of interest - it wasn't for sale. I
think there's a reason they've never made "F" plates available too!

BRE45T remains my favourite, and it was on a fairly boring car, but bunched up, so not a co-incidence. Never saw the driver.

There was someone on the radio once, don't know what programme or why I
was listening, but the chap was talking about his car having the
registration plate M1 NGE. The sad thing is, he sounded very proud of the
fact. What a TW8T. (-:

I had a great idea, when me & friends owned a Reliant Robin. For a laugh
we were going to Trev it up to the max - big stereo, leopardskin seats,
big wheels, get someone to airbrush a pheonix on the bonnet, etc.

I phoned DVLA to check out the registration A1 NOB, they told me it'd
already been sold.

An "actress" whose name escape me (Fiona something?) used to drive a red
E type in London, in the mid 70s, with the registration FU 2.

I have heard of a Rolls with IOU 000 but don't think that is a valid reg plate

Used to be on a white Mercedes reputedly owned by Xavier Hollander of
Happy Hooker fame. Followed it once from Hatfield to the start of the M10.

I have read that PEN1S was never issued and the plate in question is PEN15.
It was owned for a long time (possibly still is) by motorcycle/truck
racer-turned commentator Steve Parrish.

One for the Pratchett fans - my wife saw B1 NKY in North-West London
once. I think the car was a pale-grey Mercedes. Fortunately she couldn't
see the driver clearly through the tinted windows!

Indeed - there is a 'blacklist' of plates that the DVLA will not issue
on the grounds of being offensive and/or tasteless (P155 OFF is
another, from memory).
