Quoted message said:I'm glad you're cold and wet tonight, and I mean that in the best
possible way.
Happy chili to you!
Quoted message said:Thanks, Michael, and maybe some rain for you soon. As you said, a
drought is a drought.
BTW, how did leveling your house turn out?
We're two weeks into the process and we're looking at another two
weeks as far as I can tell. All of the 26 holes outside have been
started at least. Most are at the proper depth of ~4 feet. It
remains to be seen whether we'll need to sink a hole in the hall
outside a bathroom. That one scares me.
OMG, I knew the process was extensive, but I had no idea just how
extensivee! Having a hole like that *inside* the house would scare me,
too.
Quoted message said:I had to remove the storm door in the back yesterday because it opened
out and would hit the sheet of plywood they set over a hole at my
request. One of the dogs tumbled into a pit the night before. He's
okay, but I just about croaked from the fright. So the holes in the
back are covered now.
Aw, the poor baby. I bet he/she was just as horrified as you were.
Quoted message said:And lordy, lordy, do I ever have a lot of dirt out there in the yard.
Something approaching 26 cubic yards of dirt. I picked up some
plastic weed barrier and 72 cinder blocks last week, so now I'm in the
process of moving dirt into a 16 x 8 foot raised bed for vegetables.
I'm on spring break. That'll be my occupation for the coming week:
dirt grunt. Of course, that's only going to use a little of the
excess dirt.
Well, at least you'll be getting a nice garden out of it, but won't you
also have to add more topsoil?
Quoted message said:I'm told that I can sell it.
That's probably the option I would take.
Quoted message said:OBFood: I think I'd like to try a burrito place my barber recommended
to me over in Sulphur Springs. Lunch time approaches.
LOL! When I first read this sentence, I read it as "buy" a burrito place.
I thought, uh oh, Michael is losing it! <g> "Trying" it sounds like a
better deal.
