of cards, another seven, some makes of card reader can read up to 9
types of cards.

Compact Flash ususally translates into three formats: CFI, CFII and CF
Micro Drives.

SD is invariably SD and MMC.

So SD, CF II and Mciro drive are probaly the three other formats.

Aldi did one quite recently, 8-in-one for a tenner :-) It has four
sockets; CF (for all Compact Flash types and Microdrives), MS (Sony

Digital and MultiMedia Card). The four sockets show up as four
removable media drives when connected. The sockets are each quite

irritating as it is becoming more popular now. I haven't been able to
find an inexpensive multi-format reader that includes XD yet, though no
doubt one will turn up soon.

At a tenner or less, a multiformat reader can be useful if several of
the party have different cameras. One person back at base with a laptop
can gather all the pictures in and have a slideshow ready almost
immediately.

Ah, you need a 19-in-1 reader ;-) Available from a tenner from the likes of
Scan, MicroDirect, Aria etc. (Local box shifters in Manchester, others
around the country.)

I was hoping to buy a reader today, but I found myself juggling
collect clothes from dry cleaner/buy card reader/get run in woods
before dark/try to get new tune down in Sibelius/watch "Supersize Me"
DVD before hire expires/do a bit of slobbing. Card reader lost out:
hopefully on Monday 🙂
