Goddamm.
The TdF is over and instead of Dumbass Newbs posting about racing, we have Dumbass Newbs posting about bike choices.
Welcome, Fred. I look forward to flaming you.
Dumbass Kurgan!
The Subject was "Newbie ?". Why did you bother to read it, if you have no patience for people with under 5 years of NG experience or good [censored] links.
I was under the impression that the internet is a medium for learning?
Your impression is incorrect.

What are NG's for flaming ? :0)
They're for amusement. Think of NG's as a neighborhood bar (or, depending on the social circles in which you move, perhaps a cocktail party). Do you go there as a medium for learning? Do you see anyone at the party being paid to answer your questions? You can learn a lot if you listen, and some of what you learn may actually be true and accurate though the odds are against it. Hmmm, yet another way in which NG's are like cocktail parties. Anyway, you will learn more if you start out by listening and by being entertaining than by displaying an attitude. Sometimes those who are new to NG's liken them to a private club. Perhaps elements of this can be true, but entry to the club is not restricted and the membership fee is quite low; membership is determined not by money or status but by information and entertainment value, though sometimes the most entertaining contributions are the least informative. People who ask questions outside of an existing conversational thread (i.e., stand in the middle of the cocktail party and try to start a new conversation by asking a question to the room) usually contribute neither information nor entertainment value so the responses they receive depend entirely on the kindness of strangers.
BTW, trade that bike for one that fits, dumbass. [/B]
First I reccomend that you learn about the history of NGs...someone once posted a long essay in response to a poorly placed thread.
Second, you might want to realize that there are different groups of people in this NG. Belive it or not You, Kurgan, and Jiang are not the only ones who can contribute. His question was clear and some people can answer it others don;t have too. A good example would be a bar that has both straight people and homesexual people. When someone walks into the bar and is flaming. The straight people don't tell him to leave. Instead they ignore him and let the other people have a fun time. This Newbie had the equivalent of a rainbow colored shirt and you decided to yell at him when people were more than willing to talk to him. Such behavior can be described as nothing less than rude and not only rude to the Newbie, but also rude to the other people in the NG that would like to answer his question.

You should start by riding with local bike clubs on weeky rides. Many bike shops have rides through the week. Do these rides. Here in Augusta Ga OutSpoken Bike shop has rides on mon, wen, and friday at 6 pm and sundays at 9 am. Also Chain Reaction has rides starting at Patriots park at 6:30 pm tuesday and thursday also sun, at 8 am. Both wait on slow riders. Don`t do races untill you can get use to riding in groups first

Kurgan,
You just responded to a person who has a blog(so yesterday). A blog in which he post a picture of his tire with loaded with torns. hmmm exciting. Did I mention he patched the tire? Or that his blog is about climbing Mt. Diablo?
