    of network/systems work who's actually managed IT
    departments of companies with more than 100 people,
    interested in living in Boston? Multi-platform, wildly over-
    educated users of both incredible brilliance and incredible
    foolishness, sometimes simultaneously?

    I do have a couple of friends nearby who have keys to my
    apartment, but they work. Also, I'm not a morning person so
    I don't usually get out of bed until
    9:00-10:00 when most people are already at work.

    Hmm. This could be astoundingly difficult to separate from
    other seasonal affects: humidity levels and temperature
    affecting amounts of exercise, or simply having to deal with
    the influx of tourists in Florida and locally available
    foodstuffs. Even the likelihood of being able to walk, or
    having to drive to work due to the weather, could affect
    your HbA1c's by the levels you describe.

    It is an interesting hypothesis, thouugh.

  4. Jim, Thanks for taking the time to explain your hypothesis.
    I'm certainly familiar with resetting my body when I become
    hypo unaware. I've had to do that a few times. I've never
    noticed a seasonal fluctuation in sugars. That being said, I
    do tend to have more hypos in summer than in winter. I know
    that heat and humidity play a part in my daytime summer
    hypos. I also hit periods of time where I will have 3-6
    nights in a row of nighttime hypos. (Around 3 or 4 in the
    morning.) However, I've hit these strings at various times
    of the year. The next time I hit one of these patches, I
    will pay attention to the season.

    My personal HbA1c data shows a 0.3% yearly variation in
    Florida versus a .7% variation in Boston (for constant red
    blood cell cohort weighted glycemia over 120 day mean
    lifespan with 10 day standard deviation). This variation
    is what I see theoretically if BG is identical in both
    locations when trying to achieve my 6% HbA1c target. My
    personal data suggests that if I lived at the equator, I'd
    have less yearly variation in HbA1c. But I need more years
    of data to make sure this is true for me.

    My hypothesis about low cortisol synchronized and delayed
    to the fall equinox also needs more data. So I'm waiting
    to see if I have higher insulin sensitivity this October,
    that in turn causes nocturnal hypoglycemia. This past
    October, I was clobbered 3 nights (4 in 7 days)
