Which reminds me....what happened to that guy who was walking all the way up Scotland naked? Did
he make it? AFAICR he kept getting arrested - and with greater frequency the closer he got to
    John o Groats.

Good choice - you'll miss the midges. Not that I'd want to do that path - far too much of it is so
close to a bloomin' road as to make it pretty pointless.

You forgot to mention what species you are.

He didn't seem to be able to think of a better route than along the main
A9. Had he gone 'off piste' I'm sure he would have made it, unless the midges or frost got
    him first.

    Specifically *christmas* muzak.

I applaud them. I had two weeks of it in California around Thanksgiving, now I'm inundated with it
    over here. :-(

I just wish Christians would celebrate it quietly, in soundproof sheds.

Trouble is, there's little or no connection these days between the Christian festival celebrating
the birth of Jesus and the so-called 'Christmas' celebrated by everyone else. I'm on the fence
religiously, but I know which one I prefer even so.

    <black'n'white striped sheep> Baaa, humbug. </>

I'm a Christian and I can assure you all that giving and getting loads of pressies, as well
as having lots of alcoholic pleasure is precisely what we are meant to be doing over the next
    few days.

I don't care what you say, I'm off to get [censored] now.... If we get [censored] enough, we might open our
    presents tonight instead of tomorrow.

    Tomorrow is for kids....

I opened my first present last Thursday. It was beer. I drank it.

I just bought my main Christmas present today. Then I gave it to my mother to wrap up for me so she
can surprise me with it tomorrow.

Best not tell Martin about it though, it's only for emergencies. :-)

A mechanical cairn builder? How would that help in an emergency?

Something for destroying cairns in an emergency? Something for destroying them when a whiteout or
dense mist prevents you from reaching them? A rocket-propelled grenade launcher?

Nah, far more destructive than that, but in an indirect way. Sorry Martin... :-(

Oh it's something that uses so much electricity that they will have to build windfarms on top of
    Glaramara, Tryfan and Sgurr Alasdair,
