  1. I had an outing with several friends Friday. One of them seemed to actually
get angry about my lack of exercise. I explained that I have been doing
yardwork, walking at flea markets, and some roof repairs, but he insisted
that was not regular exercise. He does regular bicycling, yet he has not
lost a pound. I'm thinking he is actually angry because of jealousy. Then
he started in talking about anorexia and such [censored], as if I were
underweight. My BMI is now 23.8. I'm far from anorexic.

I broke my rule about not eating in restaurants that morning, but I just had
side order eggs and coffee. The Fitday numbers should be reasonably
    accurate for that.

  2. I think you're right---in his mind (like most of the world), you're
breaking the Holy Rules---you're eating fat, not exercising and losng
weight. This is probably drivng him a little nuts. The only way he can
make it make sense, in his mind, is to assume you MUST be anorexic, or
even bulemic. To his way of belief, nothing else could account for your
    weight loss.

It's just another example of how people think your business is their
business. Unfortunate, but that's the way of the world now-a-days.

Considering the progress you've made, it seems to me that he would be
asking *you* how it's done, not insisting that he knows! LOL!

The anorexia thing is funny. I don't know what my final weight will
be yet -- we'll re-evaluate as things progress. But used to be 135 to
140 was just right. Now, when people see pictures of me at that
weight, they say, "Wow! You looked great!" -- but when they *hear*
the number, they say, "Oh my Gawd! Isn't that too skinny for
    you?!?!"

    *sigh*

That's a good idea -- yes, that would be pretty easy to get "right",
    wouldn't it?

Congrads on your progress, Cubit. :-)

August Goals: Keep BGLs in normal range; Not hungry, don't eat

Humanity..... has problems relating to numbers.

Pictures seem to be easier to understand.... no numbers involved.

False - If it doesn't happen in the gym it's not exercise.

Roof repairs take a LOT of energy.

I take it your mouth replied "That's nice" and your inner voice
    replied "What a fool".

This reminds me that it's time to give props where they're due:

Hey Lunacita, good job getting a good bit of the weight off and keeping it
off. Whether you do or don't ever get down to your eventual goal, losing a
significant amount of weight and keeping it off is a real accomplishment.

I think you've mentioned that you're going through a less dramatic hair
phase, but, as someone who has once sent out an email to my office - "yes,
it is *really* red" and gotten puzzled replies from people who hadn't run
into me in the halls yet, I've always enjoyed your willingness to have fun
with it. I shaved my head, too, when I had a job where it didn't matter,
and I have the pictures of myself looking like Sinead O'Connor dressed up

    So, you go grrl!

Thanks. It's really hard to keep up the motivation to lose more when
you're reasonably happy with your appearance, as I am now even still
being 15 - 20 pounds from goal. I'm focussing more on just keeping up
the exercise and eating well because it makes me feel good, and whatever
happens with my weight, well, it just happens.

Thanks. Yeah, right now my hair is brown with goldish highlights. I
changed the "new haircut" pic to the most current one:

    http://www.mindspring.com/~lunachick/photos/haircut.html

I feel different about my appearance now from how I used to. When I was
at my heaviest, I tended to be pretty plain on purpose. Brown hair,
jeans, t-shirts. When I started losing weight I got more flamboyant.
The hair, the clothes, getting my nails done, wearing lots of makeup,
all "look at me!!" Now I feel more like just "me." Don't need to hide,
don't need to shout, I just want to be who I am. I tend to dress more
conservatively now, because fight it as I might I'm really kind of
preppy at my core. Now the bright red hair and gothwear feels like I
    was wearing a costume.

  12. My feeling is that if you don't make time specifically for exercise,
but just call your everyday chores "exercise", then you're gettting
less exercise than folks who do 30-45 minutes a day of actual exercise
PLUS do their chores (including roofing, etc.) See what I'm sayin'?
    It's part of the WOL.

  13. Nope not mean at all but you started a pissing match so I took my turn.

My post was not out of the blue and unwarranted. She took it upon

  18. Mmk. I'm trying to remember when I complained about what I was eating
or what I was going to eat. I've complained about having to cut the
_amount_ of food in order to lose weight, because being hungry sucks,

As for my punctuation, The multiple explanation marks, the
    misspellings, the ubiquitous lol's,
and the random capitalization. They are me trying to express what I am
saying so my point is not misconstrued. As we all know in here, ones
tone of voice can't be heard when saying something. Capitalization is
me emphasizing a word strongly or sometimes I get the cap button stuck.
How do you suggest I do that(emphasize my word)???
I was joking when I mentioned the part of pissing people off. I am a
hunt and peckerer, never had a typing class in my life. I Didnt have to
know how to type to hand a surgeon instruments down in the operating
room. So I DO PRETTY good considering. And as far as LOL's, you're
    being nit picky!

I'm who I am, if I bother you, kill file me!
