Today I did my first piece of intensity training for almost 2 months. My last race was at the end of november, since then Ive hardly touched the bike and I have been enjoying myself a little bit too much :p . This week I started training again doing just L1 & L2 and going into higher zones on the hills. This is pretty stock standard training for me before I get into more volume/ intensity.
Today I rode a 1km uphill time trial up a local hill. My previous PB was 3:17 up this hill, I did this in october when I was at peak fitness. My time today was 2:50! thats 27 seconds difference. I thought I would be lucky to break 4 minutes. My weight atm is 64kg's, in october it was 58-59! so I must have gained a LOT of power over my break. I wasn't overtrained before I had the break either.
PS: Today I rode my race wheels FSA rd488's with veloflex tubulars so that probably saved me 5-10 seconds.
BTW I am quite young, I am 16 years old been riding for a year and a half.
can anyone explain this or did I just get very lucky??? 😄
