Well... it's not racing season yet here in Japan, so I can't post gold medals or state championships, but - in follow up to the thread on my personal best on my climb....
MAP results are in today.
1 minute MMP: 452 ATL going into today: 103.6 CTL going into today: 117.6 TSB: 14.1
Previous MAP: 419 ATL 123.11 CTL 119.16 TSB -8.7
If the basis that .75*MAP is FTP, then all the Monod's and other formulas I was using based off my 30 minute time trial are spot on the money of a functional threshold right around 339-340. That's 30 points higher than when I tested when I got the powermeter in October. ROCKING!
Two questions - why do you have KK in the subject title? And did you intentionally have TSB at different levels for each test?
I was going to make a comment about having done the MAP on the KK. I was still able to basically do 5 watt ramps every 12 seconds. I can't say they were "exactly" intervals, but the ramp was certainly more gradual.
Yes, the TSB's were intentionally different. Coach had me tapered for this week and in a recovery week overall for this one. The last one I did was the first I'd done and I was still in a pretty big training hole.
Overall, I'm more stoked that I started with an FTP of around 310 in October when I started training with power. Since then I've lost 4kg of weight and gained 30 on threshold.

great progress! And it's nice that all the tests basically lined up for you - means you can choose one or the other in future without worrying. I haven't done a MAP test in over a year but found the 0.75 ratio worked very well for me over the 2-yrs I did the tests. I believe the normal variation is only 2-3% off that midpoint.
340 W FTP sounds nice. You must round it off to the nearest 5W you know 🙂
Sensational result. Nice work. Really good to hear you could do it OK on the KK too as I was wondering about that.🙂
I'm lucky to have a friend with a Computrainer to do them on as I am effectively devoid of a useful indoor trainer. Only time I really need it is when I'm planning outdoor track work and it's raining or for MAP tests.
My most recent tested FTP : MAP ratio was a little under 78%.
