Hello all
Hope someone may be able to help with my enquiry.
We ( as a family ) are taking a weeks holiday in NE Majorca in the last week
of October staying near Cala San Vicente.
I am very keen to take in a days walk at some point!
The family will not be involved ( wife not into walking, children just 3
and 5 years old)
Does anyone know of a walking group who may be able to offer help or allow
me to tag along with.... I have never walked in Majorca before so don't
really fancy setting out solo but would want if possible to do a good full
day walk, similar say to a good UK 3000 feet peak.
Cheers in advance....
Tim

out that is easily do able on your own. I took a compass and the Sunflower
guide, which was fine as the majority of the route is marked with paint
blobs.Let me know if you want more info. I'm a bit irregular here recently, so it
might be better to e-mail.Regards,

TimHi Tim,
The Sunflower book Landscapes of Mallorca is good, June Parkers Walking
in Mallorca (Cicerone) is better. There are some commercial walking
groups that operate out of Soller I think and probably Pollensa that
would possibly take you on a daywalk, check the local Tourist offices
when you're there. There's a number of daywalks go out from Cala san
Vincente.
There is also a Mallorca walking group : http://www.gemweb.org
The site is in Spanish, but it's worth looking through the photo albums
to get a feel for the landscape. Also see ;

Try Richard Strutt's guided walks based in Puerto Pollenca. He should
have something suitable. In article <[email hidden]>, Tim Verdon

start, then its fine as long as you start early on a good day.
Second choice Massanella.

HI Tim i climbed a small hill just north of Puerto pollensa in June
sorry i cant remember what it was called but it was about 500m, it was
a good half day hike the scenery was fantastic, i could see all the way
up the cap formentor and across to Cala san vincente. the terrain is
very sharp, i would not recommend shorts and you might want to wear
light gloves it seems to be made of coral and the vegetation is also
very sharp .hope you have a good holiday my family loved Puerto
pollensa.cheers. Andy . -

Hi Tim,
Walking is fantastic in Majorca with many wonderful opportunities to
climb up to over 3000 ft. We have just started offering walking
holidays in Majorca including a 5 day trek from Valdermossa to
Pollensa. You can check out our website: www.majorca-walking.com The
Sunflower and Cicerone guides are both excellent. Enjoy your holiday.
