Majorca??

I don't know about any walking groups, but Massenella (1352m) is a nice day
out that is easily do able on your own. I took a compass and the Sunflower
guide, which was fine as the majority of the route is marked with paint
blobs.

Let me know if you want more info. I'm a bit irregular here recently, so it
might be better to e-mail.

Hi Tim,
The Sunflower book Landscapes of Mallorca is good, June Parkers Walking
in Mallorca (Cicerone) is better. There are some commercial walking
groups that operate out of Soller I think and probably Pollensa that
would possibly take you on a daywalk, check the local Tourist offices
when you're there. There's a number of daywalks go out from Cala san
Vincente.
There is also a Mallorca walking group : http://www.gemweb.org
The site is in Spanish, but it's worth looking through the photo albums
to get a feel for the landscape. Also see ;

Tomir is the one you want. You will need a hire car to get to the
start, then its fine as long as you start early on a good day.
Second choice Massanella.

HI Tim i climbed a small hill just north of Puerto pollensa in June
sorry i cant remember what it was called but it was about 500m, it was
a good half day hike the scenery was fantastic, i could see all the way
up the cap formentor and across to Cala san vincente. the terrain is
very sharp, i would not recommend shorts and you might want to wear
light gloves it seems to be made of coral and the vegetation is also
very sharp .hope you have a good holiday my family loved Puerto
