I need my pockets so I discovered a radical way of altering pants that
works. Cut the back edge of the side seam, and take the inches off from
there and rest. If you trim the front edge neatly, you won't be able to
tell they are altered.
Sweaters were another challenge. not only do you need to take in the sides
and arms, but also the hem of the body. they were suddenly all tunics. I
left some long though -good for tucking in the winter weather
I took off a total of 8 inches from my winter parka. find the last seam they
assembled the coat with and open it up- turn the coat inside out and take in
the sides. I still have a down vest to do, I think it needs to be opened at
a armhole.
I needed to do all the sewing- but also thought of my curse- the weight
seems to stand still after the sewing begins. Silly, curses can be broken

Quoted message said:I've been gradually taking in my jeans and/or switching to smaller sizes
as I've lost weight. I've been giving my sewing machine a real workout
lately. I'm delighted at the smaller size, but I have found one
drawback to it -- the front side-pockets of my jeans are slowly
narrowing. I can barely fit my hand in the opening of the pockets now
-- LOL! I'm TRYING to wait until I reach goal before I invest in new
jeans. (They don't HAVE back pockets.)
