Fine, Bucko, I'll take the bait! (I hate to disappoint.) Aside from the fact that it involves beets, the recipe looks pretty weird to me. Four egg yolks? Looks more like a recipe for Beets Foo Yung, emphasis on the FOO! Gack, gack, ptui, and phooey! -- -Barb, <www.jamlady.eboard.com> updated 3-29-04.

Geeze, yoose gotta give it a chance... I'm sure Beet Latkes would be just fine served with your Fruit marmalade or preserves... what you call one complimenting the other.
Uh oh, what's Barb doing crocheting a handsome little doll, and where is she shoving that pointly little stick... yikes, I don't think I have long to live! <G>

Have you actually made this before Sheldon? It kind of sounds interesting, but I agree with Melba that it seems a little funky. I do like beets tho. Aren't fresh beets too hard to use this way? I would think that they would need to be boiled first. Thanks.

I haven't made that exact recipe, yet... but intend to when I harvest my

Good to know! I'll file this recipe away for one of those times when the man is out of the house. He hates beets as well as cabbage, fish, crab (I discovered last night), etc. Soooo boring IMO. He'll criticize my food and brag about how he once ate boiled cow eyeballs...........whatever.
(disgusting recipe removed for the sake of humanity)

Sheldon, there's nothing you might say that will convince me that that combination is fit for human consumption. Nothing. And it's a waste of good fruit spread, besides! JAYzuzz!

Well, I give points for listing beets first. No reason to read on past that. -- Alan
