Dude, you guys have one excellent Tour rider (LA) and his sidekick
(TH). You're nowhere in classics racing. Enjoy this time now, cause
there ain't gonna be an LA every 10 years over there. I even allow
the US this succes in cycling. If a rider excels like LA, i don't
even care from which country he is. BTW in case you didn't notice,
cycling is a little more than just three weeks in July.
One more thing, lately we all know why American athletes were so
dominant, looks like other continents are starting to win some field
back. Looks interesting for Athens. The soviets and the East Germans
did it during the cold war, but in America they still keep on
"preparing" super-athletes these days.
This is what pisses me of: asses like you who immediately claim the
world when a fellow American has succes. It's quite some arrogance if
you call your baseball finals the "WORLD" Series, though only American
teams participate. Ok, everybody knows, the US is THE country for
baseball. As every cycling fan knows, Belgium is THE country for
cyclocross. But we don't call our national championship a WORLD
championship.

Just because 1 american is dominating right now, and 2 or 3 others are of good
quality does not mean that USA is dominating the world of bycicle , sorry.

By the way, USA sucks at handball, fencing, and lot of other disciplnes.

They were only ridiculous at the last Basket ball World Championship in
Indianapolis, and have more and more trouble to win the same event in the
Olympics.

I don't want to go into a political debate, I just want to highlight
that there is not an irrational animosity against US americans per se,
just strong opposition against the present US gouvernment - for
political reasons in matters which also affect europeans.

I have totally no idea why US citizens should be warned to come to

If you drink your pastis in the Provence in France, or you're riding
your bike in the Flemish Ardennes, or you're eating a gelato in

popular. I'm not saying that because i'm a leftie, not at all, I

The thing is the US and Europe are concidered as "the West", though
there is an enormous difference between the US mentality and the
european mentality. And i have to admit, that has always attracted me
in the US, it seems te same (or we are fighting for the same rights)
but underneath there is a huge difference in perception, in the way of
thinking. e.g. we both live in democracies, but when i see what

(or for governour in california, some time ago), i hardly can't
understand this kind of [censored] can convince people. Is because the US

Once again, there was a lot of protes against the US establishment.
As being the most powerful nation in the world, the US should be more
careful with its powers. Cause when Bush does something at his own,

True, but in the US, the Euro one day classics are essentially unknown to the average dumbass. US
bike racing fans know differently, but for a US bike racer in Euro to appeal to a *wide* audience in
the US, the TdF is pretty much "it."

It is very arrogant of you to criticize the US / baseball when you don't
know facts at all. The name "World Series" came from the newspaper
the Daily World out of NY who sponsored the first competition between
