  1. Yes, me...the TM person <grin>. I ran outside today. It was about 9:45
am...but I went to the barn to take care of my horse first so...That's when
I could do it. About 81 degrees and HUMID! Yuk!

But I did it. I walked a tad, ran about 1 1/4 miles, walked a bit more and
    called it a good day.

So! I did it! I got the new shoes "dirty"...I'll try to do that more
often. It's definitely a different workout than the TM. JJ

LOL! Dirty shoes is bad. It maybe a good idea to do the TM every other
day for awhile until your legs get used to it.

They didn't really get dirty! But they did see the light of the sun! Yes,
I'll have to do the TM till I get a little stronger. But I will continue to
run outside as much as possible. I did enjoy it. No music, just looking
around and such. I think I could have gone a tad farther but the route I
took was a bit too much of incline at the end there. You can't really tell
when driving but running...it was just a tad too much for me. Next time,
I'll stick to the first road, which is more gradual till I get my wind up a
    little better. JJ

Or just do every other day as I suggested, it'll be the equivelent of
a easy/hard WO schedule most of us go by.

I could tell you about some of the amazing and wonderous things I've
seen by running outdoors without earphones, but I think since you live
in the country you'll experience them for yourself. Bears, deer,
hawks, eagles, and many other wonderful things await you out there.

Best not to push it just yet. Patience is tough, but pays off
eventually. Do too much too soon, and you may get hurt to the point
you may never want to run again. Plus in a few months you'll prolly be
doing TM workouts like I do, due to our wonderful New England weather.

Yup...I'll try to do that. Sounds like a good plan.

Yes...where my mare is boarded now, I saw a very large turtle (love turtles)
and they have at least a pair of red tails that keep regular watch over the
place. Just beautiful! Deer are common but I love seeing them. Especially
when you see a mamma with twins! :-)

    Bunnies, squirrels...all are a treat to me...JJ

I know...I already did too much too fast and look where that got me. My
shins are feeling better already though. Still a little sore, but
different. More of a good workout, muscle sore than that sharp "not-good"
pain. I'm on the right track me thinks.

Yes, I'm wining about this darned hot weather (I grew up in FL, you'd think
I could cope better <grin>😉...but I'll be bummed by winter when it comes.
Fall is great though! My FAVORITE time of the year! JJ

I saw a snapping turtle crossing the road/trail where I run the other
day, and he was so big I could not have put my arms around his shell.
He had some interesting things growing on his shell, but protested my
interest. Don't mess with snappers. When I mentioned eagles and such,
I've gotten within 8 feet of a bald eagle younen who just sat on a 6'
    high stump looking at me.
The bear I saw didn't quite get so close before he did EXACTLY what
the books say he'd do, run.
For me the nature part is the best part.

I think this was a snapper too but didn't get quite close enough to verify.
I got within about 10 feet of another red tail at my previous barn. I was
on Comet and I doubt I would have gotten that close if I hadn't been
mounted. The thing was so huge I didn't want to get any closer for fear
that it would take off and with that wing span, I wasn't sure what Comet
would do. But it was fun being that close.

I always thought if I ran into one I'd be scared, but the opposite
happened. At first glance I thought turn and run, but for some reason
curiosity got the best of me (my first ever wild bear sighting) and at
about 100 yards he looked up, snorted, and started walking away. Since
I was running I gained fairly rapidly. As he headed away, about every
20 or 30 feet, he'd turn to look at me closing in. But when I was
about 50 yards away he started looking over his shoulder more and more
often, and I knew I was getting too close for his comfort, so I turned
and jogged in the other direction for 40 or 50 feet, then started
following him again (there was a river on one side, and mountain on
the other, so there was only two directions to choose from. When I
turned around he was 50 yards away, and he rounded a bend in the road,
and he was gone. Luckily black bears aren't predators, and have no
interest in humans unless they're already dead.
    Very cool animals.

Gee, I agree with you/me, or whoever the F you are LOL. Too many
runners don't take the time to enjoy life and the great outdoors. Then
when they are kicking off, they whine about what they'll be missing.
