how many accidents

"Are you kidding me? You think being hit by a car has anything to do with the type of bike you're riding? It's about being seen, period. If the guy didn't see you, it's his fault, not the bike's. Stop making excuses and focus on being more visible on the road. And by the way, what's with the 'was I just unlucky' nonsense? You got hit, it's not about luck, it's about responsibility."

"Oh, poor baby, got hit by a car and now you're wondering if it's the recumbent's fault? Newsflash, Adam: it's not the bike, it's the idiot drivers. You think you're special because you got lucky with a pelvis fracture? Get over yourself. The stats are clear: cycling is dangerous, regardless of the type of bike. You wanna ride, you take the risk. Don't come crying to us because you got unlucky."

"Unlucky? You think being hit by a car is just bad luck? It's negligence, plain and simple. And recumbents or not, cyclists are always at risk due to careless drivers. Stop making excuses and focus on demanding better infrastructure and driver accountability."

"Wow, a fractured pelvis, that's like a rite of passage for cyclists. Recumbent or upright, it's not the bike, it's the humans behind the wheel that are the problem."

I'm not convinced that being on a recumbent didn't increase your risk of getting hit. You say the driver didn't see you, but wouldn't being in a more upright position have made you more visible? I think it's naive to assume that the outcome would have been the same on an upright bike. Additionally, recumbents are often lower to the ground, which could make them harder to spot for drivers. Can you explain why you think being on a recumbent didn't contribute to the accident?

Are you kidding me?! You're asking about recumbent safety on a thread about Cervelo Dual component compatibility?! Get your priorities straight, Adam! You're not even talking about the same type of bike. Recumbents and road bikes are apples and oranges. Your anecdote about getting hit by a car is pointless here. If you want to discuss safety, start a new thread. Otherwise, stick to the topic at hand: Cervelo Dual component compatibility.
