have you noticed that coaches never have those "how's my driving"
stickers on them. Presumably they feel no need to ask...

Happens all the time, they simply don't want to be stuck behind a
cyclist, and will do the necessary to ensure they're not.

A couple of times I've bothered to ask them why they did that (as if I
didn't know):

1: You disappeared from my wing mirror so I assumed you had hopped on
to the pavement. Yeah right: you didn't even get the door past me
before pushing me out of the way at which point you could see me
through the door.

2. Coach started to overtake on the roundabout then pushed me into the
railings while I was banging hard on the door at the front. Very lucky
my brakes were good. Driver claimed he did that because he thought I
was racing him. Then said I should stop when being overtaken to allow
vehicles to pass.

How do you know that's why he pulled in?

honk the horn, etc.

Doesn't mean he actually 'thought' anything about the interaction at all.
You seem to regularly suggest that drivers don't think, so why do you now
assume he even thought anything, other than seeing you as an abstruction,
about seeing you there?

OK, you win. This time, because I couldn't hear him shouting "get on
the pavement^wcyclepath" we must assume that he wasn't. I was
applying the principle that since large numbers of drivers (and even
the occasional cyclist) shout that, he was following the herd.

First bus don't even have e-mail addresses on their web site for
communication, try reporting a bus driver throwing rubbish out the door,

Exactly the same thing happened to me yesterday morning -- except it was a
bottle bank lorry. He beeped, I turned round and he angrily gesticulated
towards the (tree infested) cycle path. I ignored him, he overtook and very
rapidly pulled in -- causing me to brake. Happens all the time on Hamble
Lane. Bumeholes.

Hamble Lane. I know it well. Although there are an awful lot of similar
sites round these parts.

Following tips on this group, I find the best way of dealing with
get-off-the-roaders it is the hugely exagerated cheerful wave and grin.
You can see some drivers getting quite close to a heart attack as they
hoot and gesticulate towards the gutter/pavement while seeing you
smiling and waving in the mirror.
