I am so annoyed about the burn on my leg that I forgto the two amusing things that happened today.
First, a car came alongside (not too close) and a young lady (one of four in the car) wound down the window and shouted "excuse me!" - I was expecting a "didn't you know there's a psychlepath" comment, so was rather thrown when she said "Did you buy that?", meaning the bike. So I told her I did and she pronounced it "really cool". And off they drove. When I passed them in traffic later the driver shouted "I want one! I want one!" - so much for the Dark Side not being a hit with the ladieees :-)
Later I saw a girl (prolly about 8 or 9) riding along the pavement to brownies, mum walking along behind. The girl was wearing a plastic hat in comedy style: right on the back of her head and clearly back to front! I felt compelled to stop and tell her how to wear it properly (making sure mum was listening). Mum and Brown Owl also expressed great admiration for the bike. I think they were jealous of the mobile deck-chair aspects on such a lovely sunny evening.

You see, all these opportunities for adultery without having to buy the Astra or sleeveless cardigan and you don't even respond when its offered

Heehee... I was tying up the Dawes outside Tesco Dereham the other day, dressed in the customary Buff and Oakleys - the Buff just in "loose" mode. A five year old went past, Mum in tow, and announced

"Look Mummy, there's a Pirate..."
That's a great age for good comments. The best comment I've ever had while unicycling was when a child of similar age looked at me in amazement and said: "He's magic."

Guy
Mobile deck-chair eh? What a great way to describe it! Thing is though, were you wearing that classic bit of safety equipment, famed for protecting your head from harm? It's amazing what a small square of cotton, knotted at the corners, can do for your safety...

Pish and tush. I was wearing, as is my wont in the season of Warmrain, my somewhat outdated MacOS beanie :-)
